Kevin has done a tremendous job in the Ford Saloons in particular, which has had a real surge of interest this year. I'm sure he will do a good job. And I'm sure there will be a place for diz.

Just like the previous co-ordinator did? Remember that Steve was a regular clerk of the course, Combe Secretary of the Meeting, permanent F3/GT secretary of the meeting (and probably more) as well as FF1600 co-ordinator. It isn't any different. I expect he may well have some regional reps...

Never mind Diz, you did a brilliant job for the NWFF1600.
Just think you can pop over to mine one evening in about 12 months to have a good old laugh on how NWFF1600 went from the most popular and best supported regional championship to a SOMFF1600 style championship! Maybe Mr Shortis is good at his job, but how can he spend 7 days a week / 24 hours a day thinking purely NWFF1600 like Diz did? Will Mr Shortis go out of his way to rearrange testing times / raceday timetables etc to benefit the drivers or will he just do what he or his bosses at the BRSCC want him to do? Just read what Jase has put earlier in the thread! |

Sad day.
Thsi man may be good. I don't know. But as has already been stated on this Thread, his efforts are going to be somewhat diluted. Did they even bother to contact Diz about all things FF1600? Probably not. |

Speaking as a marshal, how can any one organise the marshals BBQ at Anglesey as good as Diz? This year i went to the BBQ expecting just a burger, and woke up next day with the hangover from hell!! Thanks Diz. See you at Anglesey on the 4th!

I have been reading this for a while now and to be honest I just can not believe what I am reading. Is Diz getting pushed sideways ?? or have I missed something and who's decided this. The man is the best there is at running and getting grids out for championships !! If he had been looking after the MSV I am sure we would have had bigger grids. Will somebody please let me know what is happening, I am really disappointed this man has been brilliant, he came to Cadwell and sorted it all out and anywhere he was during the year it ran perfectly.

This has all gone rather off-topic... perhaps a mod could split this.
The position is that Kevin Shortis has been appointed manager for Club Formula Ford, effectively replacing Steve Burns, who is now committed to CCRC Ltd. There is no firm commitment to individual championships (which will run where - this will be decided at the meetings Kevin has mentioned, no doubt) or which personnel will be involved in running them as yet. However, Kevin does say that diz "does an outstanding job for Formula Ford". And none of us would argue with that. Bear in mind that each region has their own regional rep. In 2005 these were Steve at Combe, diz in the NW, Barry Ashman in the Midlands and Jim Macgregor (I think) at MSV. |

I agree Ian.
Probably best to drop the subject. I will be meeting with Kevin to discuss the future and the title Championship Co-ordinator, Club Formula Ford (NW) does have a certain ring to it. I suppose my latest teddy out of the pram moment has come to an end, but rest assured there will be more in the future My problem is that I am just a shy and sensitive chap who is easily upset. Thanks for all the kind words of support on various threads. Now then, back to this thread. There is still space for more entries at Diz's winter bargain bonanza, so get your form into me by the next post, by email, or over the phone. I've already had one major surprise, in that short arms, deep pockets Hutchinson has completed his entry form more than six hours before a meeting |

Thanks for that Ian. Pete will bring entry to 3 Sisters Diz, I am also trying to get the other car out, so if you can give me a bit of time on that one, maybe I should drive it myself and show that son of mine a thing or two

He's got loads of them.
I hope you don't mind, I've passed him your number plus the entry forms for testing and race day. He is definately going to do it. He is looking to set up a NWFF1600 support race for next season and would like to talk to you about it. Something along the lines of Monoposto but to include 4 different catagories in a single race. I've been chatting with him for ages, but he makes a really good case.........could be something in this for all of us? Especially as there are more cars going out to pasture after this season. At last there is a potential for racing everything from Formula Jedi, Formula Ford 1600, Formula Ford Zetec 1800, Vauxhaul Lotus, Formula Renault, Formula Ireland, etc. I like the sound of it and believe it could be a well supported catagory given that lots of these find it hard to race at local club level. As some of these cars have had modifications to them, the owners have found that some of the MULTI FORMULA races don't accept them due to the modifications. Parts are expensive as they are very rare on these older cars and as such they get moth balled, it's about time for a good support race in which you can RUN WHAT YA BRUNG........within reason of course. What d'ya think? |
