Wow that's an italian superstars line up for GT drivers

The only problem for Lambo is that often they lose a heavy points in the 24h of SPA and that's easily compromise the championship. I hope they will finally show a strong result this year

I wonder if Engel and Stolz could end up racing in Sprint for another team (Toksport maybe?). Its a shame if they aren't racing in Sprint they are usually the most competitive AMG pairing. Certainly they were in the hunt for the sprint title even after missing Zandvoort.

Is there a battle in Europe between series to get teams to run in their races? I wonder if this whole GT vs P2/P3 battle for grid entries is rather intense in Europe. SRO probably hates stuff like Le Mans Cup and ELMS constantly raiding their teams. Now they got to deal with DTM within the GT ranks.

Ratel I'm sure does not see his organiation as a step down to series like ELMS and even WEC and considers GTWC Europe as a A-top tier sportscar series. I think it is. Must annoy him if somebody picks an running an LMP2 and especially an LMP3 car over running a GT3 in his series. I would be.

No I don't think so?

His series will remain as the 'go to' for GT teams and makes whether it's GT3 or whatever the next GT category is called..

DTM is an interim thing and if it was going to be an issue the main mftrs would have directed their prime customer teams to it aleady.

Totally right, I think what we are seeing in the case of Audi, BMW, Mercedes isnt the transfer of resources from GTWC/similar to the DTM, more a repurposing of existing resources from elsewhere.

We have to remember BMW and Audi were investing an absolute fortune in DTM last year, GT3 represents an enormous cost saving for them. So sure, support 3-4 cars in DTM, and 3-4 GTWC/IGTC... Its still likely costing you less as a manufacturer than it was to run Class One.

And as you said, its not a permanent shift. They dont really have enough of an idea what future DTM is to commit yet, so keep options open and see what happens.

According to the Brands Hatch announcement of the re-arranged dates, it was to be a CSCC meeting that weekend and "We're pleased to confirm that many of the CSCC's series will still appear on the support programme, adding an eclectic retro flavour to the event."

Well, that could be fun! Will be interesting to see what gets the nod, seeing things like Special Saloons and Modsports out there that weekend would be fun, and a nice contrast.

Test session entry list is expected thursday, in the meantime, heres how its looking for full season entries in Sprint & Endurance.

Sprint is now at a pretty solid 24, realistically any more than another 2-3 cars will make things a little crowded so in a good spot there.

Endurance is sitting at 34 cars, so another 8-10 minimum there for a solid grid. We have seen highs of 60 in Endurance, but realistically 40+ usually feels like a good number in Endurance.
