Nah, we all complain sometimes, but in the end always are very friendly towards each other.

Well we all moan about things and sometimes get annoyed but as long as it is not reflected to much in what we say and humour is also included no one will mind.

Ah, you're fine. I may not agree with everything you post, but then I'm sure you think that most of what I write here is complete tosh - which, I accept, it probably is......

It's nice to have fresh gravel trap instead of tarmac runoff in this day and age but they've still retained meter (or sth) of asphalt just next to the racing line, meaning that they will continue to dismiss track limits and drive through that because it's the quicker line

Not sure how much of a disturbance or offset to the lap time it is - or how it will affect handling or cause damage to the car longterm, but it's something. |

It's still just a nuisance for them, gravel would stop it altogether. And making people pay for their mistakes rather than loose 2 seconds.
If it really needs to be asphalt, Paul Ricard probably has the most effective 'punishers' in that area. Deeper in the runoffs though The first and second Mulsanne chicanes especially look just SAD today with all the extended tarmac. They've done a LOT of F1-style runoffing in the past couple of years without people really taking too much of a notice. It was really eye catching especially last year. It's not yet FIA Grade 1 levels thankfully, but slowly getting there Well at least they are still installing gravel somewhere, like recent Arnage change and now this |

With the sharp edged Le Mans style gravel rocks I'm not sure if adding these gravel traps are really that much of a safety improvement - LM already sees (much) more flat and blown tires than other tracks and having one going down in one of the many high speed section is not something I'm looking forward too... Maybe that new Motorsport Safety Foundation can look into it?
In my opion LM is already up to FIA 1.5 grade... |

I would say it's sadly getting close to Grade 1T (testing)
What is surprising though is that the MotoGP guys have not yet moaned for tarmac runoff between Dunlop bridge and Bugatti's La Chapelle I never understood why they had to asphalt-ize the whole section and more between pit entry road and pitlane... if it's for the Le Mans sign, well there are other ways to do it Last edited by Deleted; 7 May 2014 at 13:59. |
