Blyton
Hi Grunt,a good day was had by all, apart from the rollers and the mechanical breakdowns.Dave Bellerby was in top form, but when is'nt he.Alan Tapscott also had a good day.Two meetings in one day and light for Greg Rose to have a test in Bellerby's nova.Superb stuff. One downside David Binks had to retire due to gremlin's pumping fuel into the oil.

Yep, it was a good day. Lots of very good racing. Big big big accident for young Mr Green, I lost count how many times he went over, but pleased to say he was fine, although his wallet will take a bashing. Adrian Horsley came up with a new way to do a burn out, nose into a tyre wall and spin the wheels (!!!).
Plus a word for the Champion. Chris Cake won the overall BTRDA Championship. Word for Paul 'Turbo' Haigh got second in class, and Michael Boake good result third in modified class behind Dave Bellerby and Chris Evans. Well done guys. Thanks to all marshals and officials, hope it wasn't too cold, and we still had nearly fifty races in the day and finished by 1630hrs. Good days rallycross. |

A good day had by most, including the bowser man who came out to damp the dust down, and who treated us all to a lovely country smell as we were queued at the butty van, followed by it peeing it down with rain as we went back on post....
Some days you can't win...... A well run event, a credit to all involved |

As it was my first time at Blyton on Sunday could someone please tell me why there was a big hole on the outside of the bend just as it started the long right hand bend onto the lose?

You could see the bend from the pits, one stock hatch rolled through it and two outhers hit it,I just wondered if the hole was put on the outside of a slippy bend for fun or did it have a purpose?

Well Jonny I am told it is part of the circuit for NORA for when they are there. Blyton is used for a number things. We are aware that the hole is there but there is not a thing we can do about it at the moment. But that is the first time somebody has found it. If you where there watching from the pits you would be aware there was a great discussion on it which. I was asked about it, but there wasn't anything that could be done.

Thank you for your answer i was not aware of it being discussed,as i was helping my wife who was having a go in the afternoon in a stock hatch which she really enjoyed, and my concerns with the (hole)were for my wife as it had just rained. It was a good meeting, and we met a friendly bunch of people especially the Holland family and team, cant wait for Brands hatch.

I am glad she enjoyed it as she had some good runs. It is a shame we don't have more lady drivers.

She races in the mighty mini championship against 30 plus men and is a top 5 front runner, but Blyton was a bit like circut racing crossed with autograss wich we used to do,but better. The more events i go to the more i would like to do Rally x .A good friend of mine who used to race a Mini years ago(Roy Clark)took us to the european finals in Belgem this year,i think we were the only english people at the event, but we still had a good time.

Hi Jonny b 61
I have seen Maria in the mighty minis as I also do circuit racing. I hope she will play in the rallycross again. As I said we don't have many ladies. I am sure we will all enjoy it. |
