If you are referring to the suggestion of A New York Grand Prix, then I have a couple of ideas. I'll post them up in due course.

Watkins Glen boot configuration! No drawing necessary. Sadly, it's doubtful that would happen anytime soon, if ever.

Discussing this over on the F1 board - based on Bernie's comments and relevant information, pretty sure the Liberty Park area is the target...

Using this as an opportunity for a street race in New York...
Attempt #1 Link It goes clockwise, with start/finish at Flatbush Avenue, along with pits. This straight would give plenty of opportunity for easy pitlane in/exit points. Roads going through the park would have to be made race-worthy (widened, install run-off etc) I'm going to keep looking around and have another go at it. The straight that zips right across the park would have to be constructed specially for the racetrack. |

Attempt #2
Link Very similar to before - couldn't resist having another crack at it. In the mood of this weekend, I have part of it going through a car park like in Melbourne. Again, track would have to be widened etc, and I think it is Turn 11 that is the bit that would have to be built specially for the circuit. |

planes aren't extremely wide though
if you look at the picture posted, that platform has 6 lanes which 747's (as the one taking of) can drive on, patches of green in between those and an airport building with gates at both sides. that's never going to fit in there |

Now everyone's making a try I'll start one too. I'll give you two hints for the location: it doesn't get closer to an airport and it's only two junctions away from the next. More details including the map later.

Dude, none of this is that serious. We're just having fun with it.
Besides, if Bernie pulled hard enough on sponsor strings with companies that have a major presence in the Northeast, he could get the GP wherever he wanted. No legislator would risk putting jobs in jeopardy in this economic climate. |

If you're thinking of Floyd Bennett Field, there are tonnes of difficulties with there. The only realistic location I can think of for New York is probably The Meadowlands/Giants Stadium, which would be a very tight fit. A race would probably be more likely to gain attention is Miami if you want an ET venue, which would also make it easier for running in near the end of the season..

You found it now? Wow. Anyway it's only a game. Whether we do this is all up to us. If we don't want to we don't but if we do we certainly do.
