New Ford Mondeo
Not a Ford lover, but just had a test drive in the new Mondeo. Nice looking car, build quality about average, drove 2.0 petrol quite nippy. The RS should be quick if and when it comes out.

i dont think an RS version of the mondeo is planned but the latest flagship mondeo has the ford focus ST's 2.5 5 cylinder turbo engine with 217bhp, its reviewed in evo mag and apprently its supposed to be very good and quick as well.

yup, it is indeed the volvo 5 cylinder turbo engine, a fabulous engine, an ever more fabulous sound, but not so fabulous fuel consumption the ST focus barely manage's 25mpg which is crap for a hot hatch with 225bhp, i think thats the same fuel efficiency as a BMW M3 or a new audi RS4

Do Ford have a test facility near Leicester/Loughborough. Over the past few days I have seen a good few of these new Mondeos passing me in Loughborough. Unless they are going north from somewhere like MIRA, but to where? They have on board systems, no dealer tags and they are numbered on the passenger side at the top of the front windscreen, they've all been labelled as 20 somethings, maybe chassis numbers? a new engine being tested? I saw about 5 in a row yesterday! Very odd!
