Mystery Driver, Fford or V8SCs?
There's a chap in the newsgroup, aus.cars who says that he may be getting a V8SC driver next year. Failing that, overseas, in open wheelers. He claims to have been with Lowndes last Friday on a track/ride day at PI.
Anyone care to guess the chap's identity? |

He will have to beat me to get the drive. Could have been someone at a drive training day who has been given some finer points and is the next Michael Schumacer.

No more hints.
This person will reveal themselves when and where it is necessary. I have given the biggest clue of all away when I said that I had dinner with this person on Friday night. This is the last I shall post in this thread! hahahaha Cam |

My pic would be Alex Yoong. He has wanted a ride in Supercars for a long time now.
If it was linked with Ford, probably! |

Its a bit late for that to be happening... unless this is the 834th possible location for WPS... |

I think the person you are talking about is James Manderson, who has been linked to Alan Heaphy running a Supercar deal in Konica or the main series, as well as talking to Team Swiss in Euro F3....

Isn't James testing with JFR HYL team too. I doubt he would get a seat there though as they seem to be all filled.

With Whincup signed and plenty of talent to choose from in the 2nd seat it would be a tough ask to get into HYL, but if there is already some goings on with Mr Heaphy, perhaps there is a different path to Supercar being tread?

Who are the "plenty of talent" who could necessarily claim to be better than Manderson? He was driving away from the opposition (including highly rated Will Power) when he won the AF3 championship and has since had experience in Europe. Don't forget that Marcus Ambrose suddenly appeared from F3 in Europe and blew everyone away. I would expect some team bosses would like to find the next MA.

Perhaps but I dont think Ian Dyk, Tony Ricciardello, Jamie Whincup or any of the 20 other people linked to the HYL test day and therefore race seat for 2004 are duds either
