The first race where PT is looking bad and is looking good. It's pretty annoying that Bruno has put together a mediocre season but his car is fast and has not failed him so he's close to the championship lead.

-IF- Bruno wins the race tomorrow and PT doesn't finish in the points, then Junky will take the lead in the Driver Championship even though Paul will have 4 more wins then Junqeira.

That's the reward of consitency, I guess. Too bad for Tag. I think the accident really set the team back, but hopefully he has a good race. And it's about time Junquiera did something! I need the big points out of him for my fantasy team!

I'm no big fan of Bruno "my teammate doesn't know cars" Junqueira. I'm hoping the championship will be won by either Paul Tracy or Sebastien Bourdais (alternatively Michel Jourdain jr.). Junqueira hasn't won a single race this season, while Paul has won 5 and Seb has won 3. It would be a shame if the title were to go to a driver who may not win a single race all season. Hopefully Sebastien can take the lead from the start, and go on to win the race.

I thought Tag might get his first win of the season here, but it certainly won't be easy from the 13 spot.
So much for my handicpping! |

by the way, Gil de Ferran only won twice in both 2000 and 2001, but he was a deserving champion.

There's nothing wrong with a consistent driver, it's a good quality. I like the way Gil won and felt he was deserving. I don't think Bruno has done enough to justify where he is. He's put in a solid 4th place in the championship kind of performance.

Wouldn't mind seeing Junky take a win, but I doubt he'll do it.

He hasn't been the fastest guy on the track hardly at all this year, but it's usually only PT or Bourdais that have been consistently quicker. PC and MJ have occasionally featured, but overall Bruno has been quicker than those two. |

Paul does seem to be strugglign a little, and that Newman-Haas lockout of the front row is interesting.
Servia did well in 4th, Hunter-Reay was imrpessive to almost match Vasser, but thumbs up to Dominguez and Montiero for replying to their recent criticism in the best way possible, both well clear of their higher-rated team-mates. Manning's result was relaly disappointing. Walker look like a backmarker team this weekend, which is surprising. Jourdain needed to qualify better as well. |

I know! The best track of the season, and nobody gets to see it. I could drive to Long Beach and sit in a bar, but it's not the same to see it at home and listen to all the commentary.

How come that Haberfeld didn't participate in Qualifying 1? His name wasn't in the list...
