Rate the GP of Singapore
Night race, street race, wall touch, corners, nice women, curves... Get all those together and you have it, Singapore.

Even for a street circuit, that was bad. Hey, if they want to stage a parade, maybe next year F1 can include a marching band and some elephants.

8 just, still not au-fait with this night race approach, so much of the backgrond missing and an almost sepia tone to what is one of the highly colourfull place's in the world.

I saw a couple of passes (or attempts at least), not really enough to keep my interest.
Nice setting, average track layout, average excitement, very average, gets a 5 from me. |

6 from me. Very processional and the night race lost a bit of appeal from last year.
Having said that, the cars still looked great, and my heart was in my mouth during Jenson's second pit stop. Last few laps were tense as well as I kept expecting to see a Brawn in the wall with brake failure, so those things jacked it up from about a 4. It'll need to be better next year though, I can't imagine the night race spectacle holding me on its own for three on the trot. Especially with Abu Dhabi coming up. |

The setting looks very nice, but I wonder good it would look in the daylight.
I don't like the circuit at all, it's a kart track for F1. For that reason the racing was boring and processional and only enlivened by things like drive-throughs. Felt very sorry for Rosberg. 3 from me. |

Woeful race.
Dreadful track. Without the night-race drama it would be a 1 or 2. I kept drifting off to thoughts of the racing at Goodwood last weekend, and so did my friends and family watchingthe tv. Hopefully Sunday lunch is better than this. |

5 from me.
The cars still have too much downforce. It's probably back to 2008 levels now,and while the cars were a bit closer than last seasons race,it's not making enough difference to make overtaking anything other than impossible. |

Sparks, exploding brake discs, people nursing broken cars home - it was just like old times. But sadly like one of the less interesting races of old times.

Not more than a 3.
Almost no overtaking, even the KERS cars couldn't overtake anyone. There something seriously wrong with the track layout and the car's aerodynamics... The 2009 car changes don't cut it for me. Usually, the qualifying sessions are the most interesting part of a street event, and even that one didn't get a proper ending. (Combine that with the red-flagged PLM race and it wasn't the best racing weekend we've had...) |

Thank you for the PLM spoiler, there. Appreciated. I had to be out yesterday, so recorded it. I have only had time to watch some of it last night, so have the rest to watch today after today's big family thing is dealt with.
It is so very considerate to bring up such a critical aspect of a race from a major sportscar race in the F1 forum. Top-class. Excellent. What makes it so much more bearable is how it really adds to your post: really, truly. ********* Anyway, the race was dull. No question. I personally think the night angle works very well for the downtown Singapore setting. The track is far from perfect, as it has some seemingly unnecessarily fiddly moments, but I like it for the simple reality that it provides a real challenge for the drivers. The unexpected twists that popped up bumps it up to a 5. |

An average F1 race only improved by the fact it was at night. 5!

5 from me. If it wasn't a night race, Singapore would have very little appeal. There was no hope of any real racing after the first lap - the only reason it scores as highly as 5 is that there's been worse this year.

Managed to keep my interest (not withstanding Sunday lunch getting in the way). Quite drawn by the tactical battle of JB and RB in the Brawns which is not like me, LH peerless, so 6 I reckon. Some quite scary on board camera shots helped.
