Hybrid should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Targa Tasmania

Only a month and a bit to go.
Anyone competing or going ?

For anyone who likes their V8,s and hasn't seen some of the cars that compete in this ,have a look well worth it. Some of these cars make the Supercars look like mums shopping trolley.

Interesting to hear at Wakefield that more than a couple of the Rx7s legislated out of PROCAR existence at season's end are more than likely running as a collective in Targa Tassie '05.

If Mr Pearson is one of these possibles, I must ask if is there anything in the rules about strapping in a new motor every 200km

One of the people I do a net site for raced this last year.
It has 320 HP at the rear wheels. They reckon it was a bit sedate and have doubled the horse power in their car for this year a Jenson CV8.

That was the Daimler SP250 above. This is the Jenson. Not quite finished but it does have its motor in and it is no small block !

I was an official there last year, and have been asked to return this year. Hopefully the boss will give us the time off.

If you have the opportunity go. It is the best event I have been to. The ones I like the most are the old GT Falcons and such with over 600hp. Nothing like getting airbourne at 200km/h

Say hello to the Jenson boys then. This one has over 600hp and should fly - in a straight line that is.
I reckon its fantastic that as you say some of these cars are well over the 600hp and there 30 or more years old.

You could have passed it. It lives up at Gosford at the moment.
It passed rego today so we don't really need the trailer anymore.

I'm really looking forward to this years targa. I'm expecting big things from Jim Richards in his GT2, especially after he failed to capitalise in the rally of tasmania. I'd love to see him do it again, but i'd also love to see the monaro do it.

That orange HQ Munro (in the current edition if Street Machine) sounded fantastic at scrutineering. Mmmmmm, a big Hp V8, big revs, open exhaust all inside a tin shed.

Its amazing to see how many cars get thrown into the scenery as you drive through a stage afterwards, and to see how many close calls there were.

Also, if anyone is interested, you can buy the V8 Daimler. Go to
http://www.targa.org.au
and look under cars for sale.

Hello everyone. New to this site, from Devonport Tasmania.

Targa is a bit hard to miss living here and all but I have been involved in either a team role or as an official since inception. Great event that keeps getting better.

Good to see some positive enthusiasm for the event
