The Motegi Thread. (Get Ready For Motegi!)
quick stuff:
Number one! - Thats what Hopper is in QP1! 2nd is Vale, Third is Tamada. Sete is 10th with Colin 11th (On new chasis - hell yeah!) Tora Tora Tora! - Ukawa set a fastest speed of 310 Km/hs down the straight, which is 4km/h faster down the straight than the "normal" Honda of Biaggi. But that didn't help him from being P16 Other stuff - They have changed the MotoGp wet rules, so in effect you just pull into the pits for wets and keep going - ala: formula one... This is gonna be great! |

MotoGP grid:
http://motogp.tiscali.com/en/motogp/...?event_id=2667 Tamada took pole by over half a second at the end of qualifying - until then John Hopkins's Friday time had been sufficient. Rossi 3rd, Shinya up to 12th, Giberneau only 13th and Youichi Ui failed to qualify. Telefonica Honda 1-2 in 250cc: http://motogp.tiscali.com/en/250/res...?event_id=2666 125cc grid: http://motogp.tiscali.com/en/125/res...?event_id=2665 |

The Suzukis have tended to fall back on raceday after these qualifying heroics so fa rthis season, so I suspect Hopkins will struggle to finish top 6. Still a greatly encouraging result for both he and the team.
I guess it's Tamada v Rossi for the win unless anything happens. The championship really needs Seté to make a good fightback, and the 3-by-3 grid makes that even harder (which is good - not only is the system safer, it also increases the benefit of qualifying well) |
