Rubens best ever drive?

OK I know we had all those polls ages ago but I was thinking about this one.

Him and DC pushing each other half reminded me of the SChuey vs Mika title showdown in 2000. They were putting nearly 2 seconds a lap on Kimi at one point and when Rubens finally got through he was putting the best part of 2 seconds a lap on DC.

He was patient when the race got under way too, let the race come to him as opposed to trying do or die defensive manoeveres when he was being passed.

I don't recall him ever being so composed, he did what Michael and JPM couldn't do and that was keep it on the track.

And he still managed to set the fastest lap despite the track drying even further after he retired. Just needs a bit more luck!

Must admit that he was very unlucky and drove very well today. Probably wouldn't put it up there with his 2000 German or even 2002 Austrian GP (excluding last 100 yards) drives as he was quite a bit of Schuey's pace early on and the pace cars helped bring him bcak into contention.

Still a fab drive, and I felt sorry for him when the car failed.

He was a tad fortunate with the safety cars but just before the Firman/Panis incident he found his pace and was closing in on the guys in front.

I still think his drive at germany in 2000 was still his best. His drive was phenomenal as he was on slicks while everyone else was on full rain tires.

RB had a good run, but I think he's done better. Terrific race by most of the participants, even some of the crashed.

Barrichelo deserved to win this race or at the very least finish on the podium. He did a great job in qualifying and despite losing out in the initial stages of the race, he came back really well.

Funny how it's always Rubens' Ferrari that has mechanical problems at Interlagos..

I think his best race was in the 99 Brazillian GP in the Stewart.

No Kex.
2003: out of fuel

An argentinian newspaper noticed Jean Todt saying that "there was a higher fuel consumption that was not detected".
But can we trust in the argentinians? I've not seeing this in any website.

He's a bit player. Whatever he does, brilliant it often may be, people subconsciously think "hmm, wrong Ferrari".

I read fuel pickup problem.
(Maybe they forgot to pick it up from the pits!!)
Anyway 2sec per lap on DC shows how fast the Ferrari is when it gets its nose in front. (If only they could qualify!!)

That wasn't Rubens best ever drive (I think Austraia last year was his best, beating his team-mate convincingly until THAT move) but he sure looked like a winner until his car ****ING FAILED HIM AGAIN!!!

*grrrrrrrrr*

Germany 2000 was the most impressive, but probably not his best. Qualifying at Brazil in 1996 and Austria 2001 are probably the best.
