Quite an enjoyable race, particularly the scrap between Paffett and Kristensen.
I was surprised, but quite pleased, that Green didn't receive a penalty for driving off with the fuel hose attached. |

I'm not that certain it's been a regular penalty as Kirby & Cole intimated.
So hopefully, Green's win will stand. Nice and close at the top, 1 point between Scheider & Green, with di Resta not far behind. |

A good race today, fingers crossed that Green keeps the race win after all it wasnt really his fault but rather the teams. Nice too to see Paffet and Stoddart doing well, Stoddart looks as though she might finally be finding some true pace. Fingers crossed that Zandvoort will be as close as todays race.

The fact is, Green dominated the race from lights-to-flag, and to be penalised for something out of his control, which didn't offer any sort of performance advantage, would be hugely unjust. |

Great race! Very close, tough but fair! Fourth win in seven races for Jamie. Disappointing result for 'Maestro' Bernd
I hope, the battle continues in Holland! |

Paffett found to be underweight so he's DQd. That means Lauda gets a point...

8 posts for a DTM race ? Shows how much we are all interested in this series. A few years ago i was hooked, and now i'm just not bothered, which is a big thing for me to say, as i love motorsport.

DTM is always boring. I tried to watch it, but I switched over to Carrera Cup on SVT 24 halfway through. I only bother with it because of Ektröm, but even that isn't enough to keep me interested.

I haven't caught a lot of the DTM this year (or any other race series for that matter) but I've been watching the highlights on DTM TV. The Norisring seemed quite a good race though. |

I think spectators want to see battles in every turn. So short WTCC and especially BTCC races are so popular.
DTM has changed roles with Touring I think. In mid-70's ETCC had 6hours races, and nobody says what the boring races there were. There was a battle between BMW and Ford. And it's very interesting to discover something new about that races,to find out how that victories were reached. So,no changing in the lead, doesn't mean, that race is boring. It only needs to switch on the brain and analyze the completed race. Why Audi has some advantage in Zandvoort, even besides that weight handicap, for example? Of course, the series suffers from its 'closeness'.We don't know lots of technical details, some test times etc. If ITR opens that doors for spectators it would be more interesting to watch the duel. I'm sure,in ten years we'll be able to say that 00-10 DTM wasn't worse that ETCC'73-74 battles. We'll dig up just more details. I guess the viewer situation can be split up in 2 parts. The local, on race day, visitors still seem to buy the tickets. But the "international TV crowd" seems to be losing interest, and for good reason. And while the racing this year IMO has been a lot cleaner than last year (in fact there's even in team battles happening this year) the farce that was going on the last years has clearly damaged the reputation of DTM among the real motor sport enthusiasts. That will take a lot of time to repair and adding a manufacturer or 2 would indeed be just what the doctor ordered.
