Hi

Has anyone received their tickets for this yet?

Looking forward to this as it is my first visit to a superkart event. Anything I need to know about

Don't forget the Mini's and Dunlop Production Toduring Cars hopefully I'll cach the mini's racing always good to watch!

I'd say definatly some ear plugs for the European karts they tend to be a lot louder than most silenced vehicles. If a kart stops on your post let the driver push the kart to a safe area as bodywork is fibreglass so not very strong.

If you have to lift one up on a flat bed try to lift by a wheel and let the driver get the engine side at the back (heaviest corner) so you don't get too tired

This will probably seem a stupid question (most are from me... )

I'll be flagging, are there any different flagging rules for karts?

Umm do you guys have the battenburg flag in cars? I think there are a couple differences.

No, we don't, sounds like a tasty flag though .

I get the idea that it is similar to a safety car being out, only the lead kart becomes the pace kart.

Looks like I'll be learning some new things this weekend then

The flag is not used in car racing. Curiously enough, in the myriad of Superkart races I've marshalled at (including FIA CIK), the flag has never been issued. That said, those races have generally been included within predominantly car races with Superkarts added to the schedule, whereas Snetterton's event is more of a kart event with a few car races added in support.

In 12 years of karting I've never seen the batternburg flag used so all the usual flags

My tickets were here when arrived back from the GP! I guess anything we need to know will be covered in the morning briefing, looking at the paperwork they are very short of marshals so if anyone fancy it come along.

Who is chief marshal so I can contact them if the tickets don't arrive this week? Been having some issues with not being on lists.

Be prepared to wonder who in their right mind would drive at 130mph in a kart without a harness!! I've marshalled a few races at Silverstone & they are insane but very good & fair racers. I've never seen the battenburg flag used, races were just red flagged if needed.

Turns out I wasn't on the list... Am now, so one extra flaggy on his way. Just incase the documentation doesn't get to me can someone give me the sign on times.

Cheers

Really enjoyable weekend, hope the driver of the kart was OK after his shunt...

Very good and interesting racing from the all the kart races, pretty stunning to watch them go at it in the little beasts of vehicles. Shame the support races seemed a little short in numbers.

this is what i logged on to check, presume its the sunday crash in the last kart race your also refering to, crashed on the straight just before the bridge, didnt see the complete incident but did see him veer suddenly of course and hit the arncoe very hard, spun round a few times, he quickly got out of the kart then collapsed, looked like a possible ankle/leg break, hope he's okay, was an red flag / ambulance job

The driver is ok and was walking around pits shortly after trip to medical centre. The cause of the incident was a tyre popping off the rim apparently and something a few other drivers had experienced over the weekend which is a little concerning. Something I've never heard of happening before.

Big thanks to all the marshals last weekend hope you enjoyed your weekend and glad Saturday and Sunday's weather was much better than Fridays!

We had the same thing happen on Saturday, we were doing post 15 the one before the bridge and a kart lost a tyre in the same place.
