I can highly reccomend John, he's heavily involved in the 360MRC - ask him about it.

Does that mean there will be no social evening on the eve of the WEC (11th april). If so, could John be persuaded to do the 11th instead of the 9th so us folk from further afield can meet the great man?

Indeed he is and John is a huge supporter of multi-class endurance racing and an expert on the 24 hours of Le Mans. He has a unique style of commentating and an inexhaustable supply of good, original stories (some of them are even repeatable! )
Highly recommended.

We did try for the Thursday but John has a FIA function on that evening.

This sounds great. As a new marshal, do I need to register or can I just turn up?

Just turn up, all marshals will be made welcome at any of these social evenings.

Bob, I know you do your best but it is a real shame that this can't be on the Thursday.

Mind you, I now have a hospital appointment on Friday which will completely b****r us up for the weekend if I can't get it changed. Grrrrrrr!

Great night and a good turnout. John talks so well and fluently that you might think he did it for a living!

Agreed and a good evening which was well worth the journey. John has the 'inside track' on many aspects of motor racing and can articulate it in an entertaining way.
It was good to meet some old friends and it won't be my last visit.

Great evening, always good to hear the behind the scene stories. It is the first evening I could make but if they are all this good I will definitely be back for more.
Thanks to all who made me feel welcome!!
Can't wait for Sundays race now.

I will be coming to the May Social Evening, and my wife wants to come too as it is of special significance to our marriage in 1973! I'm not saying any more!

Well done to all for sticking it out in the worsening rain. Hope it's drier tomorrow for the main event.
