British F3 testing times
Would it be possible to have a thread solely dedicated on giving the testing times in British formula 3 ?

There is no official timing yet, which makes it difficult, but that may come later.
Most people had Ryan Lewis (T-Sport) fastest at Pembrey today in 49.4s, ahead of Mike Conway (Fortec) on 49.5s (or 49.6s) and James Walker (Fortec) on 49.8s. Then there was a whole bunch of cars in the 50s bracket. Despite the cold, conditions were dry and it was a very useful day for those who were there. More tomorrow, but rain or sleet (!) is forecast. Next week the teams move back to Snetterton on Tuesday and Donington Park on Thursday, weather conditions permitting. |

I believe that Conway was quickest yesterday with a 49.3 and today without question he was quickest with a 48.9.

the amount of testing that Mr Conway has done over the last 4-5 months it would not be a big surprise to see him at the top of the time sheets.

I would be surprised to see other than a Fortec car up there. They will be the team to beat, yet again, I've no doubt.

Mmm, maybe. Here's a thought, though. Everyone (teams and drivers) is saying what a fine car the new Dallara is and, even though there are added safety features etc, it actually weighs less than the previous model. So you have to add more ballast, particularly with a lightweight driver. If you want to.

I assume that's a "none" ? I don't know, to be honest, but I do think they had the best car last year and they will have the best one again this year.

It's true that Fortec have never won the Championship, even with drivers like Montoya and the very strong pairing of Kovalainen and Carbone. And if they had the best car last year, how come Rossiter (highly regarded by some) didn't win it for them?
Leaving all that aside, the best thing about Pembrey was that whilst the rest of the country struggled with dodgy weather, the F3 teams had good conditions for almost two whole days. There was some rain about 4 o'clock on Friday, but by then they were happy to pack up and start the journey home. Marko Asmer had his first run of the season for Hitech on Friday and was on the pace, whilst in the National Class Juho Annala looks like he could be a bit of a star in the making. |

They are certainly more experienced. You can't truly tell if they're quicker unless you get them in the same car.

Are there any time sheets out there from any testing session. How is it that some people have times of only ONE driver and not the others. Would it be possible to know where do you get your sources please ?

There is no official, independent timing - as far as I know - for these tests, so you probably won't get what you are looking for.
