Lambda to take over Ford GT program

Quote:
The new company intends to close Lambda performance in the GT scene that gap that has emerged since the problems of Matech in recent months. The company, headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany has taken on the homologation of the sports car for the GT1 and GT3, and signed a contract with Ford as the official tuner. Lambda will present the Ford GT at three fronts.

The German company behind the new "king toilet" Harald Müller is an investor. The Ford GT passionate fan had earned since the 1980s, a considerable fortune as a supplier of portable toilets (Toi Toi, Dixi). A trained mechanical engineer met with the new branch of business seems a long cherished dream.

The Ford GT is offered in the future in a revised version of GT1 and GT3, a new version of GTE is about to roll. Maybe you even want to participate on ILMC finals in China. Thus, the American sports car in its racing version would be in all the major GT series (GT-1 Championship, long distance, ADAC GT Masters) to be usable. Further details will be announce in a few weeks at a presentation.

It seems a bit odd to be producing a new GTE version of the Ford GT, a card that is no longer in production!

But hadn't Matech said that they would produce a GT2 version after the ACO dropped GT1? Perhaps Lambda are just picking up that project.

The proper translation would be King of Toilets or Toilet King... the owner of Lambda also owns two of the biggest German rent-a-loo/porta potty companies...

Apparently it is not a race car, but a 'normally' tuned Ford GT.

Just heard the GTE-spec Matech Ford GT project is not dead and actually very well alive. Car to be launched in under two weeks.

Hope to have more news on this development in the next few weeks. It could mean another Ford GT homologated for GTE next year!

Lol I actually thought this might have something to do with the Robertsons when I saw the title. But great news, I was really looking forward to Matech's LMGT project last year and it would appear that there could still be some hope left. Even if the road car homologation is rather questionable.

Updated version of the GT1 doesn't make sense anymore thou, GT3 would do the same job for that BoP-series next year

The car has been launched. It has a V8 5.8L Roush-Yates engine and bodywork by Argentine designer Enrique Scalabroni.

The car looks great, I'm a big fan. Hopefully, they'll be able to find at least a couple of customers to run it next year, and with any luck it will be more competitive than XKR or Evora

In the Speed article they talk about a GTE car. So I assume the car they have build is a GTE...

I'm pleased. I have liked the Ford GT right from the first race. You do wonder how many chassis are actually out there. I know Matech had a LOT of assistance from Dearborne, but how many spare shells did Ford have to start with?

Interestingly enough the bodywork resembles the Doran/Robertson version more than any of the Matech cars.

PS: clever splitter design. From what I understand it must not protrude more thann X mm further than the nose/bumper of the car, in this case they've just made a huge undercut above the splitter.

You're right I think they are helped with the splitter because of the design of the road car.
