WSBK Round 3&5 - Valencia&Monza
Will the real four stroke series please stand up? Enter, WSBK! And that means we're in for some brilliant racing this weekend at Valencia. It was Xaus and Toseland that took the wins last year. Toseland is off to that boring series while Xaus would like nothing better than a win at home. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the 1098 can have its first restrictions added after Valencia. So keep an eye on their performance.
Bayliss leads the points table on the back of three wins. It also helps that he hasn't fallen off either. Top 15 looks like this: 1. BAYLISS DUCATI XEROX TEAM 88 2. NIETO TEAM SUZUKI ALSTARE 61 3. XAUS STERILGARDA GO ELEVEN 59 4. CORSER YAMAHA MOTOR ITALIA 45 = CHECA HANNSPREE TEN KATE HONDA 45 6. NEUKIRCHNER TEAM ALSTARE SUZUKI 39 7. BIAGGI STERILGARDA GO ELEVEN 36 8. SMRZ GUANDALINI RACING BY GRIFO'S 13 = LANZI RG TEAM 13 15. ROLFO HANNSPREE HONDA ALTHEA 12 WSS will also be in action and will bring the usual great racing. WSS points: 1. BROOKES AUS 33 2. Nice to see Checa pull that Honda up the grid. Next Honda is Kiyonari in 11th. Sofuoglu seems to struggle with the superbike. Surprising? And it looks like Max is still hurting, back in 24th. And a quick note, 30 bikes! |

Top 16 are covered by a second. Very close. It would be nice if Neukirchner was to take his first win this weekend.

Kiyonari and Checa on the second row, cool. Big effort from Biaggi.
This should be brilliant. |

With the two front guys going down wouldn't there have been a yellow flag at the final corner?

I'd like to know how Lanzi got past Bayliss. He ended up 2.9secs in front so did Bayliss make a mistake or did they come together too?
Great ride by Checa, right up until the last corner. You've got to fell sorry for Max N, but Checa had to have a go. That's racing. |

I started watching this on Eurosport but only until I discovered Jack Burnicle wasn't commentating. Anyone know why?

Nice recovery from Haga in Race 2. Even if it was fortunate. Hopefully we'll see the real Haga from now on. It doesn't quite seem the same if he's not at the sharp end. So what's the verdict on Sofuoglu then? |

Jack and James were at Brands Hatch, they're doing all the coverage of BSB for Eurosport now that the British Eurosport 2 channel has been launched.
I got the call to do WSB on the dates that clash - only two weeks notice and, as I hadn't taped Qatar and Philip Island, didn't get a chance to practice spotting who was who so I apologise for the mistakes though after watching it I bet my cringes were bigger than anybody else's. With the snowed off conditions at the track, massive rescheduling on the fly from the new production team at Eurosport, a delayed (then postponed...then back to delayed) WSS race, along with matching breaks throughout Europe, it was a pretty hectic time in the headphones...there are loads of etc's as well Warren Pole did a sterling job tying everything together and it's just a shame that BSB didn't go ahead. I had called Warwick to co-commentate, as I knew that he had done this sort of thing before on the official coverage provided by FGSPORT. He's the Team Manager of the MV Agusta STP Racing team but was able to get away for both days, as he had worked like a trojan to set everything up at the track. The team principal was also there, so everything was covered. In two weeks it's back to World Endurance duties and the Le Mans 24 hours with Roger Bennett. |

WSBK used to be on eurosport 2 here in NL. Eurosport 2 is only broadcasted in English so I could listen to Jack and James, a treat!
However, now they have BSB on euro 2, they've put WSBK on euro1 with Dutch commentary. They are so poor . They still show the replay on euro 2, but I haven't had a change to look at it yet, so I can't judge your commentary Clive, but I'm pretty sure you won't suck as much as Dutch commentary team . PS. How could you miss the first 2 rounds! PS2. How did you get that job, missing the first 2 rounds?! |

LOL! You're on mate! I think the only remaining forum host (is it a dying 'breed' ) should be the jury on this. He has proven himself on numerous occassions in the FIM winners game , and I never get the impression he's too busy. I even heard a rumour he's been posting charts in the F1 forum...
Schummy I heard your Dutch and Romanian is fluent, too bad your English is a bit shabby, but the English commentary should be the benchmark. Good luck mate! |
