Silverstone BRSCC - 12th/13th April

Wot no comments?!

I enjoyed the 2 days of the meeting. The weather really didn't know what it wanted to do.

Some excellent racing in all but 1 or 2 of the races. The Mighty Mini's had to be one of the closest finishes I have seen in a while 8-100's of a second!

Shame to see the Cosworth Fiesta ST try and mate with the wall at Woodcote. Hopefully see it back out again next season.

Another good weekend of racing. The last mini race was also my favourite with its tight and clean racing.

A word of warning for anyone who may find themselves controling the pit exit lights at Silverstone. Due to the new pit wall you can't see all the way down the pit straight from where the pit exit light switches are. You can now only see about half way to the pedestrain bridge. This makes it tricky to spot the safety car or the tail of cars behind it. To ensure that the lights are operated correctly then a spotter can help assist the pit exit.

I would also recommend a spotter when the 'navigation car' is out. Only because it is harder to spot as it doesn't have any flashing lights.

I really enjoyed this meeting, despite being on the radio virtually all day on Saturday reporting various goings-on at Copse! Sunday was much quieter but I was expecting carnage during the super mighty mini race as they were so close for so long; but they kept it all fairly clean and it was a fantastic blanket-finish.

The last race on Saturday, Porsche 924s, had a first lap incident that required a doctor for the driver of car 66. He wasn't too badly hurt and it was very much appreciated that he came to the post on Sunday to express his thanks personally. A nice touch - well done him.

Yes I also enjoyed the 2 days, went very quickly. Even had a long lunch break too - not that it did me or the IO any good - we fell asleep!!!

Also have to say that my favourite race was the super minis they were a fantastic sight watching from Luffield Out, the first time I had done that post too!

I enjoyed this meeting as well - great fun - and a big thanks to the guys on Copse (you know who you are) that made this a great weekend for me - had much fun and learnt loads again.

Bit worried that everytime I go out something happens though - suspect I am getting a reputation for this - glad the driver was OK though and it was nice of him to come down and express his thanks - makes it all worthwhile - lets hope he gets out on the circuit again soon

HAHAHAHAHA just in case you forget the words Tony HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

We'll drink the drink to drink
To Lilly the pink, the pink, the pink
The saviour of the human race
She invented medicinal compound
She was efficacious in every case

Mr Fleers had sticky out ears
And it made him awful shy
So they gave him medicinal compound
Now he's learning how to fly

Rubber Tony was known to be boney
He would never eat his meals
So they gave him medicinal compound
Now they move him round on wheels

We'll drink the drink to drink
To Lilly the pink, the pink, the pink
The saviour of the human race
She invented medicinal compound
She was efficacious in every case

Ebenezer thought he was Julius Ceasar
So they put him in a home
Where they gave him medicinal compound
Now he's Emperor of Rome

Johnny Hammer had a terrible s-stammer
He could hardly s-say a word
So they gave him medicinal compound
Now he's seen, but never heard

Anty Millie ran willy-nilly
And her legs, they did recede
So they looked up medicinal compound
Now they call her Millipede

Jennifer Eccles had terrible freckles
And all the boys called her names
But she changed with medicinal compound
Now she joins in all the games

We'll drink the drink to drink
To Lilly the pink, the pink, the pink
The saviour of the human race
She invented medicinal compound
She was efficacious in every case

Lilly, the pink, she turned to drink
She filled up the bar with everything in sight
And in spite her medicinal compound
Sadly, pickle-Lilly died

Up to Heaven, her soul assended
All the church bells, they did ring
She took with her medicinal compound
Hark the herald angel sing

We'll drink the drink to drink
To Lilly the pink, the pink, the pink
The saviour of the human race
She invented medicinal compound
She was efficacious in every case

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Dave - you honestly don't want to get on the wrong side of Nina you know! From now on I decree that no man, woman, child, hamster or Marshal shall ever mention this song to me again.

Worringly, I think the verse mentioned above is rather appropiate to me and my stomach

Anyhow thanks for the two days. They really were a lot of fun and I am off to write to the MSA to outline our new set of improved racing rules and safety features
