DTM back to Austria
http://www.touringcartimes.com/news.php?id=2180
Good news. The DTM should have a round in Austria. The Norisring is currently the only round in the southern part of Germany. And the Austrians are more or less a 'natural' extention for a big German serie. Also good news that a the Austrians have a decent track. Although the Salzbrgring may be more exiting to drive, the facility's are a bit crappy over there. |

DTM at Salzburg, theres an interesting thought, slipstreaming anyone?
DTM back at A1 would be great, anyone know how the new track will look like, or will it be the exact same? |

We need the A1-Ring back. It was a great track.

Does anybody know how construction is currently going at the A1 Ring, any pictures? I find it funny how this circuit can be knocked down with very little coverage (i.e. pictures), then they rebuild it and there is no info. Jeez there are military bases that have their developments better publicised

I read somewhere this week that the work hasn't properly begun on restoring the track yet, but apparently it's definitely happening. Would be a good race to put on the DTM calendar, definitely. Might put pressure on races like Brands and Mugello, especially as Aufrecht has said how happy he was with attendances in Austria before

The Brands Hathc race on the indy track is the one to go IMO, unless they can race on the GP-loop. OTOH, there are quit some brits in the DTM, and no Italians. The Barcelona round was chosen by the DTM-administrators as best organised event, so I don't think they will be off the calendar. Let's see how the Le Mans-round goes this year, that one has been on and off already.

I seem to recall reading previously that it was the DTM that requested the Indy circuit as opposed to the GP.
