Why must we hear Nick Fry's opinion on everything?

Frankly its just very lazy journalism. They must think "whose the biggest egomaniac who is desperate to get his name on the internet, in print or on TV?... ahh I know the bloke at Honda who thinks 'management' is the art of getting your name out there repeatedly". And so they get out the gratis phone that Honda will have given them with renta quotes number at position one on spead dial (hard wired).

Obviously his comments on Super Aguri are because he is still sore they did a better job than his team, but I wish he would try to undermine the opposition not with his mouth but by sorting out the team thats arguably ruining the best years of our other potential WDC.

Surely he's due the sack soon? Or has he got pics of Sochiro Honda with call girls or similar?

Its because he is a PR man and thinks his opinions are very important, he doesn't realise that no one actually cares what he thinks. A bit like James Allen really!

It is annoying when people do that.

On an internet forum where we chose to come and offer our opinion!

To discuss Nick Fry, every now and again I wonder if he'll last. However he is well known and they have changed his role recently so I think he'll end up staying...

It is only an opinion and Nick has strong opinions on certain things (to subtly rephrase what has already been said here, seemingly without a trace of irony).

And it isn't his fault he is asked his opinion and I doubt he publishes them either.

Nick is a strange one. I have never felt he is particularly competent and, like many, am surprised he is still there albeit in a new role now. I also find his perma-smile and sparkly eyes extremely unnerving. But, Dave Richards rates him so he can't be so bad.

I agree, maybe he is just a happy guy?
I am scared, agreeing with Knowlesy, say something that I won't agree with, quick!

TBH I don't think that we hear any more from Nick Fry than we do from some of the other team managers.

I must say, as much as I pity Super Aguri at the moment, I second Fry's critical attitude towards Magma/Weigl/whatever. I really doubt that Weigl will handle SA well. They were involved in MidlandF1 before and that was not really a masterpiece of progress and stability.

Looking at the numbers http://www.weigl-gruppe.de/1_wgroup/...n.cfm?lang=eng, they're doing just around 100 mio € a year. They need some serious financial background and a secret masterplan to keep a F1 team up and running.

I think he is generally pretty well liked (maybe even respected!) is he not? Within the paddock and his team I mean.

He has generated much mirth on forums and the Autosport letters page, but then so has Luca de Montezemolo.

I just hope his words aren't responsible for Super Aguri's problems in Turkey. I've always felt that he says too much and achieves too little, and I'm surprised that he's still employed by Honda even after the Prodrive connection.

Why must we hear Nick Fry's opinion on everything?

Because he has one and other people get paid to report it to us.
Some keep their opinions to themselves and others share them, others repeat them, read them, criticise them, talk about them, broadcast them or condemn them...

Anyway...thats my opinion.....

Aguri Suzuki agrees:

Yep so he's done for SA, I hope karma comes back to bite him in the ass. I also hope Jenson gets out of there asap.

I don't think Nick Fry can be held responsible for the collapse of Super Aguri - they were always on shaky ground being so heavily reliant on Honda, and it's the no customer cars rule that probably put off potential buyers. Not exactly something that Fry could do a great deal about. He seemed to have an unnecessary amount to say about SA (although presumably people did ask him for his comments), but they would have had to call it a day even if he'd kept his mouth shut.

Im sure Nick Fry feels he needs to comment because Honda put alot of money into Aguri. Money that could have been given to Honda F1 team to increase his pay packet.
