Young Marshals at Oulton Park

I just wanted to say how very impressed I was this weekend with all the young marshals trying their hand.

We were based next to the Assembly area and there were several of varying ages trying their hand at organising cars to their grid slots, doing the paddock tannoy. They were very impressive and helpful - it should be a part of their schooling, like work experience. They were gaining confidence, chatting to people, learning about teamwork etc.

Very impressive - well done BRSCC and all those who got them to come along.

I agree with you there Sarah.
It was my first visit to Oulton and I was pleased to see the youngsters in their probans, and they all had big smiles.

A great deal of thanks should go to Nadine Lewis who does a great deal to help all marshals at Oulton, especially the new and young members.

Thanks Sarah

I'll pass on your kind comments to Matthew as he is one of the youngsters in orange at Oulton, Him being in the paddock allows me to get out on the bank

He enjoys it and has gained a lot of experience which he brings with him to the other bits of motorsport we are involved with (Sprints and rallying)

Monday's BRSCC meeting at Mallory Park (plus previous ones this season, including the CSCC two dayer, and last) also benefitted from the efforts of under 16's (freeing up older volunteers for other jobs). It's a shame that a (very) few of the adults that they have to deal with aren't always as grown up - but that's a reflection of society in general.
