Trulli and Frentzen will stay. The only way it will change is if Flav wants Jarno back at Renault. In which case I reckon Eddie will go for Zonta or Webber (he was interested in Mark before he signed with Benetton).

I have just read on f1-live that there are rumours of HHF going to Toyota next year. If that is the case, and Jarno stays I reckon the same two drivers will be in line for the seat. However, if both drivers go, Zonta or Webber will get one seat, and EJ will look for another more experienced driver. Maybe Jacques?

Trulli and Button will swap places. If HHF goes to Toyota, Zonta will get a drive. Maybe Alex Wurz will be in with a chance.

I can't see Eddie agreeing to that. His best driver for the third quickest guy at Benetton. I doubt it. Flav isn't the greatest Fisi fan. Maybe Jarno and Fisi will swap.

Frenten and Trulli will stay. Jarno has said REPEPEATEDLY that he WILL NOT GO TO BENETTON/RENAULT. Flavio is only his manager, and does not own his contract. If Frentzen leaves, (and he would be mad to go to TOYOTA) Fisi could well return to Jordan if EJ could tolerate two Italians on the team.

Many rumours says HHF can go to Toyota or hang his helmet, then it's possible his seat can be vacant. In this case Zonta can be titular. Otherwise it's also probably this seat are expecting for a lead driver, for example Coulthard if he can take the title this year.
The other seat is near secure to Trulli but if Renault grows his performance he can go to this team, and possibly can made a "swap" with Fisichella or Button (for me it's more probably Fisi will involved in the interchange). My opinion is the next year we can watch a team with Zonta and Trulli, or again with HHF and Trulli. |

Frentzen has 24 hours after this coming race (I think) to decide whether he stays at Jordan or goes elsewhere (ie. Toyota or Jaguar). Personally I think he'd be mad to leave EJ.

he would be mad not to stay.
*switches on pro-zonta propaganda* zonta will be driving a f1 car next year, and there seems to be a lot of zonta fans in the jordan garage. i reckon ej might just go with him next year... *exits pro-zonta propaganda mode* they need a bit of a change, they're going all stale and boring.. *damn propaganda mode is stuck on. ah well.* |

I think that Jos Verstappen has a good chance of driving a Jordan next year. He has a good relationship with Honda and is driving his best season ever this year. Trulli will stay

I'm hoping FB will force JT to leave Jordan giving GF the chance to return. Fisichella and Frentzen/Zonta would make a good team. I'd like to see Zonta get another shot at F1.

Welcome, Viceroy, to our friendly forum, and thanks for the nod.
Nice choice of name, please do not be confused if we refer to TimD as "The Viceroy" as he has been appointed the Queen's representive for the reclaimed American Colonies in North America. We'll keep it clear in our minds. |
