Blackheath for London Grand Prix.

Remember the old mumblings about a London GP? Well, it died.

Instead of a circuit set slap bang in the middle of London which some have proposed, I have desigend a circuit that's further out. It's based around Blackheath which is about 3-4km south of the Millenium Dome.

The ressies won't like it, but that's the case with all street circuits.

The circuit is longer than Monaco (71 laps at 305km) and would be faster. I guesstimate it would be like Albert Park overall, but with a number of sections at Monaco speed.

Pits would be where marked by the yellow line. Grandstands and the pit buildings would be temporary. It would need a bit of work but the circuit is near New Cross station which will be on the London Overground from 2010.

Sorry for JPEG compression, I can't be bothered to use more than MS Paint and Google Earth for tracks, and the PNG came up as over twice the 1 meg limit.

nice elevation changes in there as well around 13 metres (42 feet).

Though I think several of the link roads would require a bit of widening and a few traffic islands and not to mention a statue of some description on the run from Tyler's to Ranger's would need removed.

I don't think the local vicar will be too pleased about the track going round the back of his church (the inverted V to the right of the Vale)

Reminds me of those classic F1 circuits from the beginning of the sport that used public roads, like Pescara and Reims, but much shorter. I like it.
