Honda Civic Type R BTC-T
Built by Arena Motorsport. Just got off the phone talking to them (thanks to the very helpful man who answered, if you're reading this). The cars did not have chassi ID tags, so I've had to give them numbers just to keep them seperate.
#1 (2002) 2002: Arena Motorsport (Unknown which driver drove which car) 2003: Synchro Motorsport / James Kaye 2004: Synchro Motorsport / James Kaye 2005: Synchro Motorsport / James Kaye 2006: Synchro Motorsport / James Kaye Synchro didn't answer so I'll have to call them again #2 (2002) 2002: Arena Motorsport (Unknown which driver drove which car) Unknown exactly what happened to this car, but it was possibly updated for the 04 season. Wasn't raced for 03 though. Possibly went to Proctor. #3 (2003) 2003: Arena Motorsport (Unknown which driver drove which car) 2004: Team Dynamics / Matt Neal Car was stripped for parts for the Integras, shell still remains and is for sale here fitted with Group N parts: http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listin..._POSSIBLE.html #4 (2003) 2003: Arena Motorsport (Unknown which driver drove which car) 2004: Team Dynamics / Dan Eaves Car was stripped for parts for the Integras, shell still remains (unknown what happened to it though) #5 (2003) 2003: Arena Motorsport (Unknown which driver drove which car) 2004: Arena Motorsport / Tom Chilton 2005: Arena Motorsport / Tom Chilton 2006: Mark Proctor 2007: Mark Proctor? (Sold the car to Michael Doyle during the year) 2008: Michael Doyle #6 (2003/04) 2003: Arena Motorsport spare shell 2004: Possibly turned into a new car - was this car raced at all? I forgot to ask... The history is a bit fuzzy, and requires more research. What is known though is that Proctor got one complete car, and one spare shell. Six cars were built in total. |

Jimmy you might have problems with Synchro, as they're based at the Honda factory in Swindon which has closed for 4 months, so there may not be anyone around. You could try contacting James Kaye somehow though? Or the ex-Synchro team manager Andy Scott who worked with In-Tune last year. The manager of Synchro in 06 was Dilan Talabini. He now works for 888 Australia: http://www.teamvodafone.com/index.php?id=177
Michael Doyle's car was re-shelled midway through 2008, using the spare shell they bought from Proctor. Last edited by Craner Curves; 6 Feb 2009 at 14:10. |

Yep, TH has confirmed to me that it's the old Synchro car. I was a bit confused by various news reports about the car's previous drivers, but now that's all been clarified.

Redbrick Racing now have at least 3 of the cars, although they're not in complete BTCC spec anymore. They have the 2004 Neal and Eaves cars, plus the Synchro machine, as well as trying to buy the ex-Chilton/Doyle car.

Redbrick are selling the ex-Neal (2004) car here:
http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listin...nda_civic.html Restored to pretty much BTCC spec, except for engine and gearbox. |

I Currently have Chassis No.6 and 4 .
I bought the 2 ex works cars that Dynamics used in 2004 from them in 2005 as shells and sold them on , these subsequenlty were re-sold to Redbrick . I also sold them the ex syncro car which had no chassis number as i recall altho now i believe it to be no.5 ,it had some nice carbon touches missing from any other car ive had before or since so 2004 works car is likely , i think some of these numbers were recycled from early 2002 works cars, most of the cars had red under the paint jobs ,very confusing . |
