Morgan Park extension
Morgan Park currently looks like a great little track with potential for bigger events(if it widened..)based on pic's on the website along with footage on youtube.
There was mention of having the track extended from the current configuration. Can anyone confirm this? |

Don't you read Auto Action?
Yep, it will be extended in the not too distant future to around 3km, which will make the last 1km of the circuit a flat out blast rather than tight and twisty layout as it currently stands. Top little circuit, but I very much doubt it needs or will ever get widening! |

Hopefully a half decent crop of local categories will fill the program. It's a great track with (say it softly) elevation changes! Look forward to seeing you all come up. |

Thanks for the feedback.
I look forward to making my way up there later in the year to see the new track layout. Is the new layout in this weeks Auto Action? Is there accomodation close to the track? Is the town close by? |

Don't know about Auto Fiction (gave up on it a long time ago) but I can tell you that the track is on the edge of Warwick so getting somewhere to stay in town is the go - get in early to avoid disappointment.
Worst case, if you google maps up Warwick you'll see that there are other towns within a reasonable drive. Well worth going - its a great little track. |

Morgan Park Raceway is 5 minutes from the centre of Warwick. Warwick has heaps of motels and hotels and they all fill up on race weekends, book early.

I don't have final numbers, but it's looking like it will be a modest but positive start to the 2009 series. Should be an enjoyable meeting though, and hopefully the 'Morgan Park pioneers' who go to this one encourage more to come along to the meeting in June.
Would always be great to have more. I understand your stable suffered a bit of a battering at Bathurst. Would have been good to see you there. |

Yeah, timing for the meeting kind of sucks for us, most of the boys will be down at Clipsal with the Utes, then there is also the Gatton Sprints that weekend, and on Sunday there is the reopening meeting at Lakeside...

Clashing with the Lakeside re-opening is really going to limit the Brisbane domestic draw, I'll be there unfortunately, sorry Sam.

The one that was advertised as being on the Shannons Nationals calendars that have been in both M-News and A-Action in the last month. Since those calendars appeared it seems to have been replaced in recent times by Australian Production Cars.

Perhaps its time to start a new thread on irace or simply racing in Queensland? Both would be handy threads for people.
I cannot find any information on the new upgrades at Morgan Park. Are pictures available of work in progress? Are there any plans available of the proposed layout? |

Not on-line. MP aren't the press release kinda folks. Which isn't so bad a thing. If you announce it after its built there isn't any doubting of it existance. |

I thik you will find he MGP exstention will work. It is a neat track, as to Lakeside re opening, don't forget that track is limited to what it can run.
To many QLd's think that Lakeside will return to the old days, sorry folks it want happen. Yes it is a awsome circuit, but it is to resticted by neighbours, fast cars etc. Morgan Park is the place to go if you want modern racing and speeed, as for the "u" turn lay out of QR , well the promise of improvements is to come. Each year we hear of plans to extend, that has been for the last ten years. Maybe one day |
