pink69 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Gronholm , is the title lost?

After retiring from another Rally last time out , marcus Gronholm said that his title challenge was over for this year. But Colin McRae said that four races ago did he not and now look at him! Joint top of the drivers standings. If peugeot can solve their reliability problems then Gronholm could still mount a title challenge this year.

No chance really. Everything would have to go 100% right for Gronholm and totally wrong for not just Makinen and McRae, but also Sainz and Burns for Gronholm to have any remote chance of making even a title fight, let alone an actual chance of the title.

I think to be honest it will take a comeback of Lazarus proportions for MarcusG to win from here. He'd need to win pretty well every time out and hope that everyone else crashed to be champion.
Nothing's impossible, but I think that's somewhat unlikely. I wait to be proved wrong!

no chance really which is a shame because a world champion deserves the chance to do better in defending his title and the 2001 peugeot just hasnt been reliable enough for marcus to do his thing....still to be world champion you need a lot of luck

Gronholm is not going to retain his title. It will be between Makinen, McRae and Sainz.

Burns needs some wins if he wants to take the title. Gronholm's Peugeot cars is too unreliable this year.

Also Auriol not up for manufacturer points in Safari, Gronholm and Rovenpera are the 2 drivers. Auriol will do the rally though.

I don't think he has much chance now - if he does a Mcrae and wins the next 3 rallies, I may change my mind. it is not the year for champions - Hakkinen/Gronholm struggling, and F3 champ Pizzonia only running at the bottom of the top six in F3000!
