I haven't seen the picture but if it has 220bhp and paddle shifts, I assume it will have the same level of performance of an F3 car, considering it is very close to F3 pace already.

That may cause yet another problem in the single seater ladder if it were to be F3 pace as im guesing a renault budget would be half of that of an f3 one so it may reduce the advantages of doing F3.

Not to mention rendering Formula Master even more pointless.

i just had a look at lap times and there is a 4s (Donnington Park where downforce is a huge factor) difference between the current frenault and F3. With the extra power and probably better aerodynamics providing more downforce the gap may be say 2s and that puts in the same region as F3 national Class pace or the back of the grid in the international class.

I don't think the issue is the series itself, just the sheer number of them. Hopefully someone will have the balls to try and implement a clear Formula Junior/Formula 3/Formula 2/Formula 1 progression at worldwide level ...
A 7 speed box on a car like this seems like a wierd choice, sounds like a bit more to go wrong. |

The car looks strange, in a way like the Tatuus when it was 1st revealed, but may be it's a big longer?
The FIA should create a set of rules for F4 and then BMW and Renault to adopt their cars to them, remain whatever they want - spec. series or not. It's just a marketing mess with so many different names. Btw, in Bulgarian when you pronounce Formula Renault it sounds very very similar to Formula One :P |

Would not be a bad idea... but obviously when you think about the new Formula 2 concept it appears that the FIA is following a complete different way

Fetish Man will probably be out this year - I think he's the only man who likes these things. Depends who the replacement is though.

What engine is it running. The F4R 830?
EDIT: Just noticed that it says it will use the F4R 832 of the new Renaultsport Clio 200 due for release this summer. |

Moro info on new car: http://www.renault-sport.com/en/worl...ws=114309.html
"Faster, more modern, cheaper" 205hp makes it faster and more durable brakes and tyres make it cheaper... and if 10 years newer car wasn't more modern, something would be terribly wrong More pics here: http://schotanus.ndedit.com/imageban...t%202.0%202010 The Renault Sport release says the car will take to the track in 2010 for the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and in all national championships. I'm not quite sure about that... at least FR Finland will keep the old car and I bet Sweden will too (would be weird to change car after just one season). But what about the others? Eurocup will be for 2010 car only and WEC will have separate categories for 2010 and 2000 cars. The first new car was ordered by a NEC team (KEO) and the cup will be open for new machines for sure. But will there be similar system to WEC in NEC too? Are FR UK, Italy and others going to have 2010 spec cars only? |

I think I read on autosport that FR UK will go to to 2010 spec cars. The Italian championship as well (italiaracing maybe?).

Italian series will have both cars... they say the old cars firm a new championship, does it mean they start in the same field?

Not many teams run the new car in the official testing...
Moreover engine seems to be in trouble, not a funny shakedown! |

Welcome to Ten Tenths! If you want to find anything about professional motorsport, a good place to start is Wikipedia. This article shows several FR2.0 championships: the European, the British, the Italian, the Northern European (ex German), etc. I suggest you any of these four, but not the others.
About teams, some of the top teams are Epsilon, Tech 1, Koiranen, Interwetten, Motopark, Jenzer, SG Formula, Cram, CO2, ARTA, Fortec, Manor and Atech. Good luck with your career! |
