Eurosport this week
OK,
For all you who have access to Eurosport and fancy a laugh I am making my presenting debut introducing the Clio Trophy action from Misano this week!!! (Although it may get edited out in the UK), plus you get a spectacular on board lap from the Clio V6 piloted (to a pretty cr*p lap time) by yours truly. Check out Auto Magazine today (Weds), tomorrow (Thurs) but most promisingly Friday (11AM?) when the show is longer and I am less likely to get edited out!!! How sweaty do I look in that race suit in 40 degrees trying to speak to the camera??? Cheers RickP |

Bella,
You wouldn't believe the levels we race drivers have to sink to for publicity and the vain hope of a sponsored drive for next year!!! As for the next Schofield, wasn't he upstaged by some form of furry puppet for most of his career??? What are you trying to say? Cheers RickP |

A job well done.
Better than Martin Haven who somehow got the Front Wheel Drive Clios mixed up with the V6 Clios. Last edited by Bennett Fan; 11 Jul 2001 at 17:57. |

I saw you too! And I didn't know it was your presenting debut (didn't read this topic 'til now). It looked like you had done it tons of times before! Seriously! And I didn't think you looked sweaty either. You certainly didn't look nervous to me, but here's something I learned when I took a course in speaking in front of an audience a couple of years ago: If you feel nervous before doing a speech or public appearance of some sort, remember that only 10 % of those nerves are visible to those watching you. You can actually be pretty nervous without much of it showing!

Wow! I saw me!
I am gobsmacked, the lap they chose, the rear tyres were pretty cooked and you can see great big flicks of opposite lock through two of the corners... scared myself I did! Must admit, looked a whole lot less sweaty and nervous than I thought I would... All the on board shots they used during the program were from my car... including the enormous spin (puts hand up in admission), must admit, that scared me a bit as well... RickP For those who didn't see it, it is repeated 10.30AM THurs and 8.30AM tomorrow, Friday. |

Saw it, got it - most impressed especially now I've had the explanation of cooked tyres.
Liked the wink - sort of 'come up and see me sometime!!!!' Lorna - if you want it I can put a copy in the luggage for Knockhill. |

"Come up and see me sometime????"
That was my best Anne Robinson impression! Just had the race team on the phone apologising for the handling of the car, they count 3 lurid slides in the lap. Also had one of last years teammates on apologising for taking the mickey when I try and explain my lap with the aid of crossed arms held in front of me... quote "You really actually do drive like that!" Glad you managed to see my 2 minutes of glory! Cheers Rick"TV"P |
