Suzuka 8 hour

Okay the Suzuka 8 hour is on but I can't find any info about it at all. The only thing I really know about it this that it's a motocycle race that goes for 8 hours (but I could be wrong)

I remember (or at least heard that) last year Katoh/Ukawa won and Rossi/Edwards teamed up (and where leading a one stage!).

Apparently, its on August 5th or 12th. Frankly I don't have a clue?!

Can anyone tell me whats going on?
Are we going to get to see it on television?? (in australia??)

Does anyone know if they are getting coverage? Or of a web site that covers the event!

Hi, I don't know much about it either apart from Rossi and Edwards are partners again, and Rossi is starting off the race. Apparently this race is really big in Japan, and the best Honda riders are made to race in it, but Rossi has already said that he doesn't want to do it next year because it puts him under too much pressure. I think it starts on 5th August. I'll try and find a website with more information,

mcnews.com.au will probably have some news, but not proper coverage. It will not be shown on Australian TV to my knowledge, definitely not free-to-air at any rate. Not sure of the date either, probably the 5th as it is the middle of the break.

It is basically an 8 hour race around the Suzuka track with two riders per team with refueling and such. A very intense race as it is partially in the dark. Rossi and Edwards did lead for a short while last year I believe but Rossi fell off (twice) and they still put in a good effort.

What is the latest on that gomick?
I heard that anthony gobert went to Japan to test the thing, the 8 hour being one of the reasons that he signed with Yamaha at the begining of the year.
But I haven't heard how he went?
Or if he is going to ride?
The race is in 4 days!!!

If has stayed uninjured untill the race I'm sure he'll kick arse!

Blue should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Rumour has it that Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards will pair up for the Suzuka 8-hour. Tady Okada will partner Barros and Ukawa with Katoh. It looks like Sugo winner, Tamada, will have a support role as a reserve rider for the Edwards and Rossi team.
There is still no official word on whether Gobert and Haga will pair up for Yamaha's eight hour effort., but there have been whispers John Kocinski may part of Yamaha's plans for the race.

Hmmm....Anyone knows if Speedvision shows it in the states?
