2011 Argentinian TC2000
2010 drivers:
Honda: José Mar*a López, Leonel Pern*a, Mariano Altuna, Néstor Girolami, Santiago Ventana Ford: Norberto Fontana, Gabriel Ponce de León, Mart*n Basso Toyota: Mariano Werner, Facundo Ardusso, Fransico Troncoso, Bernardo Llaver Chevrolet: Guillermo Ortelli, Christian Ledesma Fiat: Emanuel Moriatis, Emiliano Spataro, Ezequiel Bosio, Leandro Carducci Renault: Mat*as Rossi, Juan Manuel Silva Peugeot: Juan Cruz Álvarez, Franco Coscia, Josito Di Palma Honda would have just three cars next season. Ventana will obviosly be dropped. The other Honda driver to change team would be PechitoLópez, to Fiat. Another option for him is to reamin driving a Honda but under another team:Oli Competición - that company supports him in TC and TRV6. Juan Manuel Silva wanted to drop from Renault due to the awful season, but the Renault team told him to stay. He would remain driving for the Losange in 2011, but was also linked with Ford. Rossi could move to Toyota; Werner could move to Renault or Chevrolet; Moriatis could move to Renault; Yannantuoni or Diego Aventin to Ford. - o - Brazilian Stock Car and TC2000 bosses are close to creating for 2011 a Brazilian TC2000, or whatever it gets named (apparently Brazilian Manufacturers Championship). They wouldn't have and date clashes, which obviously means the new championship would clash with TC, TR / TN or a few dates each. The season finale(s) whould have the top 15 drivers from each championship. Last edited by FIRE; 17 Mar 2011 at 21:00. |

Apparently TC2000 itself will supply the Brazilian teams with all the standarized things that are used here: suspension elements, brakes, engines, etc. I dont know about gearboxes. Data acquisition must be Motec or AIM (Pi prohibited).

Will there be Argentinian teams entering the Brazilian series?

Nothing is known yet. I'm most worried by the manufacturers. They neeed at least four to have the impact it needs.

I'll be very disappointed if there's no big announcement this weekend at the 200km of Buenos Aires.

El Pato Silva will quit Renault and move to Ford to replace Ponce de León. After 12 seasons driving for the Blue Badge, Ponce would move to Fiat to join Pechito López.

So Pechito is confirmed at FIAT?
Wasn't he a hot target for other teams? |

No, that's what I wrote he "would move". I'm quoting Corsa.

TC2000 boss Pablo Peón was interviewed on the Brazilian Manufacturers Championships. It confirms everything I've psoted here.

This last weekend there were also rumours about Citroen entering the C4 for 2011. The team would be DTA, now running "unofficial" Peugeots 307.
Drivers can be Canapino and Muñoz Marchesi. Yannantuoni would leave DTA. |

OIL is a rather new company that bought a refinery and many petrol stations to Petrobras some months ago, so it is akward if next year he still races one weekend for one team sponsored by a petrol company and the other weekend for the competition. Also, I have read that OIL has some agreement with Petronas... that is sponsoring FIAT in TC2000... there you go. |

Ok, this is about 2012: Pablo Peón wants 400hp - in a FWD car!!! (Are these the fastest FWD race cars of the world?) He wants push-to-pass too.

Yeah I thought the same, how can you enhace traction in a 400HP FWD car???
Also, I doubt they will be 2 liters with that power... son the "2000" part of the series name will be odd |

Hmmm, TC2000 seems to be moving away from production based touring car racing.
Currently a lot of manufacturers are involved, large grids, entertaining races. Why all these changes? |

Since the wheel-arch extensions on the TC2000 cars are rather similar to those on the TT-RS, I think they can mount big enough tires to make it work. |

Oh, too bad. Well, the TC2000 raced at Rafaela in 2005, doing over 270km/h at the straights and laps of 240km/h average.

According to Corsa, Citroën is set to enter the TC2000 through the DTA team, which currently fields two Peugeots as privateers. The car will be the first-gen C4 5dr. Mat*as Muñoz Marchesi would remain in the team, whereas Fabián Yannantuoni (ex Honda works driver) would be replaced by TC and TRV6 frontrunner Agust*n Canapino.
More silly season: o- Pechito López is being tempted by Renault and Fiat. o- Mat*as Rossi would switch from Renault to Toyota. o- Pato SIlva would drop Renault for Ford. o- Chevrolet has been doing so bad this year that both Christian Ledesma and Guillermo Ortelli want to leave. Ortelli could go to Renault. o- Gabriel Ponce de León would switch from Ford to Fiat. In other words, nearly everyone could change manufacturers. |

I meant that current TC2000 cars are very quick already, and that they have probably lapped faster than VLN FWD cars. But I'm not sure if any car is quick enough...

Oh sorry! I didnt get it!
A good comparison: TC lapped Buenos Aires (qualy) in 1.36.2 some month ago and TC2000 in 1.36.9. TC is a different kind of beast, with RWD, 200Kg 2 cylinders and 1100cc more and "NA" tyres instead of Pirellis. Peon may be wanting to get TC2000 on top of the speed mountain here in Argentina... |

Welcome to Ten-Tenths, Gabo!
I'd hate Honda to pick a small car like the City. The Chevrolet Shell livery by JLF is awesome, but they aren't changing cars: the current one isn't competitive, so the best choice is to improve it instad of building a new one from scratch. |

Honda City = Honda Civic sedan?
The rear of the Citroen looks odd. BTW Nice artist impressions. |
