All being okay I will be there for my first ever trip (in over 20 years of marshalling) to Castle Combe, looking forward to it.

I'm coming over for my 2nd CC visit after an enjoyable first trip last year.

Looking forward to a good day ...... after Sunday at Brands I just want the cars to stay on the ground and not in the air.

See folks there

Really looking forward to it! Been too long a winter.

Drink

Dare I chip in and say that I am starting my 49th year ! First meeting Russell Bend at Snetts in 1962. Very little wiser, a lot slower, still keen, always enjoying the whole experience that is a race day and looking forward to meeting old friends over the next month at Combe, Thruxton and Cadwell.
Frighten myself looking at old Youtubes of dangerous racing in the 60s and 70s when banks were lower, cars closer and no one had conceived Health and Safety notions........we just seemed to get down and do the necessary!
Really getting a bit excited looking forward to Easter Monday ......when the excitement begins to wane, that's when I stop!

Of course one would expect to be outdone by a member of the aristocracy wouldn't one? We're talking about Castle Combe here, dear boy!
I bet when you started marshalling at 'Snetts' you hadn't even heard of The Castle Combe!

Actually if you started in 62, then this is about to be your 50th year.
Get the champers on ice and I'll come and visit you on Monday and help you celebrate!

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn up as an extra for this meeting?

I really fancy it. But would hate to drive down to find out I can't.

Any advice?

As a driver at Castle Come and one who had to be pushed off the grid when my car died can I thank all of the marshals there today.

Your dedication, professionalism, efficiency and skill is a credit to you all.

Thank you very much from an appreciative driver

Sorry Robin, only just seen your question, so the reply is a bit too late. But for future reference you can turn up as an extra and they should be delighted to see you - sign on is from 7 - 8 am at the Camp corner entrance. If you can give prior notice, the chief marshal details are here http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/...arshalling.asp

Hope it was nothing too serious with your car Matt

As another driver needing assistance today (Yellow FF No 80) I'd like to thank our friends in orange, red, green and shades thereof! I was attended to very quickly after the accident and well tended on my way into and out of the medical centre (no big dramas, a sore thumb from a snapped around wheel and the usual aches from a shunt).

Sadly the car is going to need some significant TLC

Had a good day at Westway with Gary (The Marshalling Vicar) as PC, Neal as my co-flaggie, and (sorry) but I've forgotten the names of the incident team. Shame some of the races didn't have bigger entries, but it won't stop me coming back (hope to be there next Monday for the Motors TV Live Race Day).
