NASCAR Cup Round 15: 5 Hour Energy 500, Pocono Raceway

Cup drivers go to the Poconos for the first of two races this year at the "tricky triangle". Looks like the possibilities of rain Saturday and Sunday. Q'ing 1110 est Saturday Green Flag @ 115 est Sunday Probably too much else for this guy to watch this weekend. We'll see...gonna be busy! |

^and I don't think Pocono is the easiest of tracks to get the handle on...some drivers have taken to it like a pig to slop; Denny Hamlin, Tim Richmond, and Awesome Bill come to mind.

It should be noted that drivers have the option to downshift into the turns at least at Pocono. That will be interesting to see for the race.

I was at the track, so I had a blast. However, shifting hurt some teams, especially our points leader

Only saw parts of the Pocono race due to the Formula 1 race in Montreal, but from what I saw it seemed a bit more tame than usual (especially compared to the two races at Pocono last year).
Nevertheless, good to see Gordon back in victory lane. One more and he'll take lone possession of third place on the all-time win list. |

Watched race until Ambrose had problems around lap 125 - was bored with Pocono up until then... Did the race excite after that?
Congrats to the #24 of his 84th career win - equal 3rd all time with Allison & Waltrip now  With this points system, i reckon we could be in for an exciting chase - unless the #48 ruins it again  , tho it dont seem like it will this year at this stage, fingers crossed anyway!
