Open Single Seater Race at Brands

Apologies for advertising a race on here, but I thought drivers might not be aware.

SEMSEC are running an event on the Brands Hatch indy circuit on the 22 September 2012.

We have a open trophy race for any single seater. Please go to our website at www.semsec.org.uk for entries.

Many thanks

Andy Stevens
SEMSEC Competition Secretary

The MSA ride height and noise rules will apply, so it is NOT a "libre" meeting. I've seen older F2 cars racing there (but they cheated the noise test and ran at low ride heights, so I don't think they were asked back!), but F3000 and F1 cars won't be permitted except in very exceptional circumstances.

I am look forward to the annual semsec race though with the diversity of cars from FFord and FVee through to Jedi, F3 and F2 and there have been some cracking races there like the titanic battle last year between Eddie Mclurg and Dave Connor in the Jedi.
Also comepting will be much missed Ten-tenths legend driftwood in a Dallara also its great that a small club like semsec has its annual "away" race at Brands.
Hope the club gets a good deal of entries to fill its coffers so come on guys give it a go and it's ideal testing opportunity for the FFord Kent/Zetec guys to use the event as a test day before the Festival!

Yours

Hi guys - apologies for not being around to answer the queries:

Put simply SEMSEC is a friendly club who will accept entries from anyone who wishes to race with us. Ultimately, we are covered by MSA regulations and that will determine such things as ride hide and noise.

Our single seater series specifically allows any car under 2 litre running to their formula regulations, but we also have a catch all invitation class. This allows us to accept other entries, including for Brands only, cars over 2 litre. That is why last year we accepted an entry from a F5000 car.

I am pleased to report that entries are coming in, but as with any small club, we could do with more. Please assist by spreading the word...

The F5000 entered last year was my Trojan T102 which we got to the finish for the first time in a long while! Sadly the crown wheel is now poking thru' a fractured gearbox casing so we won't be out this year in it and the F5000 March rebuild is not quite finished.

The guys at SEMSEC are a great bunch and Libre racing (if I can call it that nowadays!) is great fun. I would encourage everyone to enter!
