Current F1 '97 League: Important Rule Change???
I have consulted some fellow racers and they are in agreement that this may be a viable rule change for the final races of the season - Austria, Italy, Japan, Estoril and Jerez.
In order to keep competition alive in the championship we are thinking of making everyone run these final 5 races in the SAME car - and not a top-flight car. This will make it more dependent on skill rather than car speed and reliability. If this rule is not implemented in this current season, then something along similar lines will come into use in the next F1 season we race. Post your comments here, and I shall take them into account when I return from Spa. Last edited by Minardi fan; 30 Aug 2001 at 09:11. |

Thats a good idea, just don't know whether we should implement it half way through the season or not.
I agree, sounds like a good idea |

I've already PMed Minardi Fan with my views on this, but just for Public record I am 100% behind the idea - even if it does mean I will probably lose the championship
At the moment some of us are simply driving around and hoping that simply finishing the race will be enough to net points. If everyone were to drive a car which has the potential to win the occasional race, but not run away with every one, it should make things a bit more interesting all round. |

yeah, doesn't sound like a bad idea at all....
then it will be a real test of skill as aposed to just mainly luck and speed... but what car shall we use?? maybe a car that no one is using at the moment? |

What about using the Benetton or the Sauber, no one is using them.
Another suggestion to make it even more level is to have a set weather condition for each race or just run the remainder in full dry or wet conditions. What do you think? |

Ok, sounds good...
I'll look at the teams etc... and announce who everyone must race as for the final rounds tomorrow - there will also be set weather conditions for each race. |

I shall announce on Monday what car is to be used for Austria and beyond, and also what weather conditions to run the race under.
By the way, anyone seen David McManus? I'm still waiting for his results from Germany I believe... |

I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
Sorry, owing to tech problems with my laptop, and holidays, I haven't been to ten tenths for months. As I've missed a couple, I'll withdraw from the rest of the season, but look forward to rejoining any future championships (as long as I own the relevant game) |
