Sprint ALL STAR Race: Charlotte Motorspeedway
JAYSKI
I don't have a clue of the format and I won't be able to watch any of it (stupid friend getting married...I'll try to talk him out of it, guess it's better than next weekend, even the the N'ring 24 and Aussie/COTA is Saturday too; Damn his plans). Still, will be heavy hearts in NC this weekend... |

I was at the 2nd Allstar race in Atl. in 1986 . Bill Elliott won.
Even managed to hang on to a key chain they gave out at the gate. I thinks its a cool event. My guess is Johnson for the umteenth Charlotte win. Saw Edwards first win at Atl. in 2005 so he is on my favorites list. Been a Patrick fan since her IRL days so if she cant race in hopefully she will get the vote. |

It is a great event, a good "break" for the teams, but the racing has gotten a bit ridiculous over the years, the format is a little squirrely and different every year. There is the occasional decent show on the circuit, but most of the show is off track. |

Got some good cars toward the back that will
have some work to do. They will have to watch it though. Bad things happen back there. 3 wide in the Truck race ! Awesome. |

Without a doubt, Danica will race in the All Star race.
She wins popular vote, the feminist vote, the horny old man vote, and has backing from the "Vote The Worst" as well. |

We usually have one big one in the early segments then they
settle down till the last 10 laps. My 3 picks : 99,18,10 |

Only FOX Sports could say a 1,4,2,1 average is a 2.6 and a 2,1,1,4 average is a 3.3

Was shaping up to be a good race until JJ won the race out of the pits to start the final segment.
I still say if they want an exciting All Star race, it better not be on a 1.5mi intermediate. HAS to be on a short track. |

Yeah, I was expecting a Busch brother in Victory lane. Just have to face it, it all comes down to a pit stop after segment 4. Pit stops are some of the strongest features of the #48 team.

Most hyped up race of the year and the most boring. Either cancel this rubbish race or move it to an actual racetrack instead of a giant aero wind tunnel like CMS is. Crowd looked terrible as well, no surprise considering the track is owned by the money grabbing goons at SMI.
Mandatory 4 tire stop ensures clean air will win the race. NASCAR loves putting on a hyped show but often forgets on how to put on a car race. |

They gave up trying to come up with an interesting format and just said 'to hell with it we'll try any old thing'.
But it's not just the format. The G6 cars actually race well on most tracks but the blue-riband ovals like Charlotte, Daytona and most probably Indianapolis, places were they might want to put the best foot forward, they flop. |

Best solution: just run the All Star Race as if it was the Bud Shootout. Keep all the stuff leading up to it unchanged.
