Leinster91 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Special Saloon/ GT Imp / Stiletto.

Hi,

Im N.Ireland based and new to the forum, ive picked myself up a spaceframe imp that was used on the mainland in the 1990s.

I believe the car was raced by Graham Smith, hillclimbed by Kevin Day and last owned by a guy in Scotland called Nigel Hepburn.

Ive found a video on youtube which is believe is the car being used compeditively in the 90's by Graham Smith at Lydden.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgQUJKr0eak

I believe this is the car being used by Kevin Day with a BDA in the back -

This is how the car has come to me, fairly sorry looking

I'd like to get it back in shape and back on the track, its going to be a long term project as ive a few more in the pipeline at the moment, but im trying to gather up as much info as I can about the car.

I have been told that the car is Based on a March F3 Chassis, which has been cut and shut to offset the driver from the centre line. The rollbar is ridiculous and doesn't not support the bodywork much or at all, so its going to require a lot of re-thinking in all areas.

Identifying the chassis would be good, as its come to me with no uprights, wishbones and basically a bare tub and bodywork.

Any info on the car would be great..

Best way to contact is likely ileinster@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks,

Iain

I believe the hill climber could have been Kevin Dey.
He competed in Scottish events from the early 1990s IIRC.
I'm fairly sure he ran a car sales business in Montrose - see Google.
