Cadwell Park 2013 - Thanks
Thank You for your help in 2013 The Cadwell Park 2013 season came to an end in October but Training Days and AGMs have extended the marshalling theme into November within the region this year. The season saw 18 days of circuit racing plus one day of single venue rallying which was also attended by some of our team. In all there have been in excess of 500 marshals volunteering over 1350 days in the season. As always all clubs showed their appreciation of the marshals in their usual ways. However, this year MSVR also included in two of their events passenger rides for marshals which were enjoyed by those lucky enough to have been drawn out of the hat (even including the one whose ride caused the red flag!). Other changes this year included the opening of the spectator crossing bridge which has reduced the burden on post 15 (bottom of the Mountain) as crossing duties have been removed from their responsibilities and the introduction of the second fire truck which has allowed us to increase significantly the number of marshals who have been able to take part in that particular duty. The words “thank you” seem insufficient when considering your invaluable assistance as a volunteer official at Cadwell this season. But it is sincerely said on behalf of myself, the regional committee, circuit management and the clubs, for without your assistance the smooth and efficient racing events that took place would simply have not happened. Whether you were with us all season or just for one day, that help has been gratefully appreciated and I hope we made that clear at each and every meeting. The 2014 season is not really that far away and I am busily collating dates for the events to be run at Cadwell next year. It is looking as though changes to the calendar are being made that hopefully should provide an interesting season for us all. Don’t forget the Training Days too. Once I know all the dates with reasonable certainty I shall be publishing them in the usual way and I hope that I can count on you marshalling with us again in 2014, and beyond. In the meantime, thank you once again, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours and I hope to see you at Cadwell Park again in 2014. Yours sincerely, David Owen David Owen – Cadwell ES Team. |
