[iV8SC15R131415] Skycity Triple Crown SuperSprint, Hidden Valley Raceway: 19-21Jun
A long FIVE weeks til the next V8Supercar join us again from the hot & sultry Hidden Valley Raceway... Time to go to one of the hottest and stickiest places in the country... . Three races for the Skycity Darwin Triple Crown Super Sprint round of the V8SC Championship series, 2x 60km races on Saturday, 1x 200km race on Sunday. At least that's what's been published. Lets wait & see if the tower of power make any changes between now & then.. Hidden Valley traditionally favours a strong engine, good power down, and strong chassis balance. And engines that dont mind the heat. The usual suspects should be on the money here, PRA, BJR and the Nissans likely to feature strongly. Will 888 & Tekno come back from their challenges of Winton & Perth? Will Erebus be strong? Will Volvo actually look like they are taking part? Will DJRTP keep Mr Pye in the seat, or will Mr Ambrose have a go? Was Winton a sign of improvement, a permanent indicator of success? Only a few looong weeks til we find out... |

Prior to Hidden valley last year Jamie was not leading the championship and had an average winton , he went on to win 11 of the last 22 races and and was not on the podium 7 times but his lowest result was a 7th
Meanwhile Frosty was near the top and had a excellent Winton. He only had 1 win and 3 podiums for the remainder of the year |

HV, QR and Townsville are happy hunting grounds for Triple Eight, likewise the endurance events. PRA would want to bring their A game for these events.

For the sake of entertainment it would be great to have the #5, #6, #1 & #888 at the top of their game for this round and I doubt that there'd be anyone who wouldn't want to see the return of a competitive #33.

Is there a rule regarding how much a driver can compete in the main game and still be eligible to be a co driver?
Marcos has already done 2 rounds and some would say he has an unfair advantage over the rest of the co drivers, Pye has done 3 rounds. Are DJRTP at risk of not being able to pair their 2 drivers if Marcos returns pre-enduros? (or already for that matter?) |

No thats not right, both drivers get points.
Its a valid question Go Harder has, one I am yet to have a definite answer for too |

So you're saying that hypothetically Garth Tander and James Courtney could enter in a single car, provided only one of them accumulates points for the enduro races?

Nah, rules dont allow maingame drivers to pair up.
Which makes the question interesting......how many races can Ambrose compete in before he is classified a main game driver? |

Sorry, thats the point I was trying to make, and the reason why I don't think we'll see Ambrose before Sandown.
*Apologies if I've derailed the thread, maybe it's worthy of it's own? |

I wonder what the regs are myself.
It is as simple though as applying for an exemption, unless anybody was to protest it.... |

Well I cant find it in the regs on V8 site, maybe someone else will have some luck.
Fair point but I'll suggest if it got to this, then you would see your protest |

Its a valid question but the precedent has been set with Jonny Reid completing 3-4 rounds with Djr in 2013 then got dumped for Chaz and picked up an enduro drive at TDR from memory.
