Looking for An Aussie

Can someone tell me about a young Australian driver named Bisco or Bisto who has just been named a Toyota Junior Development driver? He is racing, I think, in Formula Renault. Thanks.

Liz his name is Ryan Briscoe..he has been signed up by Toyota as a development driver .

He was sensational in Karts and has moved into cars this year and in his first year in cars has been perforimng miracles in Formula renault..I believe he has won one of the championships he has been racing in and is very high up in the points in the other..(im not sure someone may have to confirm this)

certainly a big year for him anyway.

he will also be making his debut in F3 later this year I think and it possibly maybe in france.

ummm not really sure what you want to know about him but I guess thats a good start for you ..he is a great driver and definately one to watch in the next few years.

also I was under the impression that he was actually gonna race F3 this year ...am I right in that or is he just gonna be testing in preperation for next year ?

either way this kid is good and hopefully he can go all the way with toyota !

He made his F3 debut at this tears Marlboro Masters, he was, as could be expected out of his depth at that stage, but he has shwn there is some potential there.

He is fully funded by Toyota, look for him to have a f1 test drive next season.

Ryan certainly is a talent. He is from Drunnoyne in Sydney and is 19 or 20. As the boys pointed out, this year was his first in cars, after an amazing karting career. I witnessed this talent first hand, when he trounced me in karts. Certainly one to watch.

Hey, if you haven't heard yet, Ryan is set to test the Toyota F1 car at i think Suzuka or Paul Ricard, in the first few weeks of November. I can't wait, good luck Ryan!

Thanks guys - David Brabham rated him very high but could not remember his name. (I guess Ryan needs a new PR agent!) Obviously David knows what he is talking about. I'll be watching Mr. Briscoe with great interest.

If anyone would like to write about him for the newsletter ...

Ryan only did a few laps to acclimatise to the car before the testing ban comes in for Toyota next week. He said it was great though!
