Story here.
Hopefully for Sergio it is only a mild case and he suffers no long-term effects on his health. Inevitably now I guess the questions will be about who is going to be twirling the wheel this weekend at Silverstone. |

One way or another we will know who will be in this weekend as P1 isnt many hours away. RP has confirmed it will be running both cars. |

Gutierrez or Hulk - not much of a choice to be made there, assuming they are contractually able!

Surely it depends who Perez has been chatting to and breathing over in the Team over the last few days too..Did he fly to the UK?
Could be a lot more of the Team/friends/other drivers.. quarantined too |

They are running sub-bubbles in F1.
If he has symptoms, everyone else in the bubble is 14 days. It also depends on if he has symptoms. 'If you are not experiencing symptoms but have tested positive for COVID-19 you also must self-isolate for at least 10 days, starting from the day the test was taken. If you develop symptoms during this isolation period, you must restart your 10-day isolation from the day you develop symptoms.' |

Is it a coincidence he said he didn't feel too well at Budapest already?
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/15...ing-qualifying -- Bring back Hulkenberg. Maybe he can set the record straight and get a podium finish after all |

So what is the point of having reserve drivers?

They don’t have one.
They have an agreement to use the Merc one if they want to, but that’s not the same thing. |

How many other have tested positive?
Or is anyone they contact trace back to Perez forced to quarantine as well? Hope this doesnt get bad but admittedly very curious about the process. |

"With assistance of the local organiser of the British Grand Prix, local health authorities and the FIA COVID-19 delegate, a full track and trace initiative has been undertaken and all close contacts have been quarantined. A team spokesperson earlier confirmed a small group of team members that were in contact with Perez were self-isolating as a precaution and being re-tested, as is standard procedure. |

A Hamilton clone, created from photographs taken on the grid, seems the most likey replacment driver.

Confirmed here that Perez will miss both the Silverstone Grands Prix.
Article also suggesting that the Hulk is RP's preferred replacement driver. Must say I'd love to see him get on a podium - but even though the RP is clearly good, I'm not sure that it'll be good enough at Silverstone with only 1 podium spot up for grabs if both Mercs do their usual dance. |

Do the drivers live in bubbles or do they jet home to Monaco between races?.
