Daytona Beach 03 - 10 Mar 2002
Is anyone in this forum going to Bike Week in Daytona Beach, USA this coming March? I have some useful info if so. It concerns no-longer available accommodations on the oceanfront, right in the heart of everything, which sleep 6 in 1st class luxury.Check website: www.oceanwalk.com
Thanks, Dan Danielc194@aol.com |

chris walker is riding the kawasaki wsb bike in 2002.....he is a former #2 in british superbike for 4 years running - 2 of those were on the kawasaki i think ..... should do pretty good in wsb - exciting riding style - keep an eye out for him

mladin struggled.....didnt think he raced at laguna seca (only kawasaki/yamaha from ama - gobert was injured)
mladin has had pole at laguna seca wsb round in 98 or 99 agree that bostrom should have izutsu's ride - eric must be hanging out for the kawasaki moto gp ride |

I'll be there. I live fifty miles from the speedway. I may crew for a 250 rider, Ty Piz. Daytona is the poorest track the AMA Superbikes run on. I've been to quite a few of the other tracks. This opinion is one shared by most of the riders as well. I went to Virginia this year. Great facility. I rode my Beemer. VIR gives preferential treatment to bikers. Been to LaGuana a few times. Love it. Elkhart Lake is world class. For my money, Daytona would be last on the list. It's expensive, has idiots for security and the track layout is truly an abortion for a motorcycle. Of course, if you are looking to get drunk, ogle pigs on hogs, then Daytona maybe just the ticket.

J C - Couldn't agree more about the
"Usual" Daytona. My post was hoping to rent my Oceanwalk reservation. There are so many GOOD things in the area (Track Sucks!)such as Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, the RACES (Yeah, they actually race - couldn't tell by the no. of "poseurs" on Main ST.!), the auction in Deland, the H.P. shoot-outs at A.M.I., etc. etc. I'm 90 miles away from D.B.(Jax). Have ya heard about the new 2-mile BIKES only track in Jennings, FL ? "North Florida Motorsports Park". Spent last Sun there, and it's cool. Ed Bargy, Frank Kinsey, and Keith Code are all gonna have schools there in the coming year. What's Ty Piz riding - a TZ or NSR? Good Luck! |
