Changes to the Forums

Good morning everyone-

I really needed to post this in three places, so one new topic seemed the sensible solution

It's just to let you know that the suggestions for a Quiz Forum, a Moto-X forum, and the one to drop the speedway forum have all been taken on board, and the Steering Committee are currently deciding on the best course of action.
Meantime, we'd still like to hear from more members whether or not you're in favour of the propositions, so get typing!

yep im very much in favour of a quiz forum - but the moto x one, im not so fussed as im not a fan.

couldnt the Moto X forum be included in the Speedway forum ?
really I dont think either as single forums will get much traffic but together they may help each other out a little bit.

That's actually exactly what I'd already suggested to the Steering Committee. Leave the track bikes alone, and have an "All other Bike Classes" forum, which would be used for discussin any kind of off-road biking. Nice to see we all think alike!

Just an idea, but if you do a quiz forum, is there some sort of timer/clock that you can add, that if a question is not answered in a certian time then the answer must be given. Otherwise we may have a whole host of obscure unanswered questions. leading to a cunfusing board.

what about car speedway and the like ???

I dont really watch alot of motox or speedway bikes that much but I do watch a bit of sprintcar racing and stuff like that..would this be included in that forum ?????

, if it is for both then moto x shouldnt go with it...

maybe a superbike forum : australia, british, japan, ama and world
then
an fim forum : moto gp, moto x, speedway...

I would love to see a quiz forum.

On the bikes issue, why dont you make them into a sub forum like the touring cars with two different sections , one for dirt track and the other for circuit racing ?

I agree with mtpanorama, keep the forum and split it. I have only just got into speedway and I am looking forward to some discussions once the season kicks off in March. A quiz forum sounds great.

Think we are getting a bit confused here.In UK 'Speedway' is just for bikes on quarter mile dirt ovals.In view of the lack of posts,I guess it has its own site(s) and its fans do not think of coming here.

Let me step in here if Michael doesn't mind. As per the forum description, the speedway forum is for bikes only. It was set up in response to a request from www.speed-way.com who wished to be a forum partner. It seems though that this site cannot bring a suitable level of traffic without an active moderator to get things moving, so a change is obviously necessary.

I will leave the details of this to Michael and his team, but I would imagine the best solution might be for all bike related chat to be grouped together in a single forum. However if they wish to give the idea of a Speedway and Moto-X forum a try, then great, I hope they go for it!

I do think though that Superbikes and MotoGP should remain together for the foreseeable...

It actually doesnt say it on the forum description ..and to many Aussies and I would say Americans as well Speedway means cars ...Sprint cars and bangers and the like.

so where do we post stuff about that ?????

Try the National and Club Racing forum for all forms of car racing not covered by it's own forum.
