Testing
As the winter testing ban has now been lifted - who do you think will start to shine before the season starts?
I still think it will be a 3 horse race for the 2002 cup - Ferrari, Williams and poss Mclaren if not Jordan |

Agreed on the others - but Jordan
I assume that inclusion was an accidental 'cut and paste' from another thread posting. I'd rate Renault well above Jordan by the end of 2002. They may take a few races to get there, but the upward trend is clear to see. In my view Jordan is on the slide. Plus it may be hard to race long term with no engine under the hood |

Whilst I'd agree that Jordan have been a bit of a let down recently I certainly wouldn't write them off just yet. Much depends on the new Honda unit - if that's good (and it had better be a whole lot better than last year's) then they could cause a few surprises.
An excellent driver line-up (together with a world-leading strategy on pit babes and partying) keep them high on my favourites list. One thing - I do think they should abandon the exaggerated emphasis on qualifying set-up (reportedly this is where they were weak last year, and the point over which HHF and Eddie J fell-out) and put proprtionately more effort into race set-up and reliability. Many people go on about the difficulty of overtaking (and therefore the importance of qualifying), but how often do we see great trains of faster cars all being held up? Not often (it just feels like often!). Back to the original thread - I think we can expect great things from Mclaren, Williams and Renault - and I think we can expect lots of excuses from Toyota, BAR and Jaguar! |

As there has been very little in the way of rules changes, I think we will see a marked improvement in reliabilty from the top teams. Hopefully this stability will lead to some teams making gains on the front runners. When was the last time we saw a championship that involved more than two teams? If the Benz engine is strong, I think McLaren will rebound from last season, and Renault will be the team on the rise. On another note, I just hope it rains a lot this year

Jordan will have a very good 2nd half of the season this year i think.....Once Fisi settles back in to his old team , and young Taku adjusts to F1 , he will be pushing Fisi all the way....With Honda engines Jordan are looking very good for 2003
