Opel Pull out?

opel boss Carl-Peter Forster has deined rumours that the German marque was about to pull out of the DTM after a winless season, with an estimated saving of £18.5 million. They have said they WILL be running 6 Astra coupes in the series in 2002.

DTM would be history

If Opel were to get out it would likely be the end of the new DTM.

That is unless BMW were to decide to find a place to run a non homologated M3 V8.

I am not crazy about the tube frame V8s that are raced in DTM. If it did end we might see Opel,Audi and maybe even Daimler start racing proper touring cars like those in the ETCC.
