Changes in the Winston

Got this from the newsletter today....

Changes in the Winston: MRN Radio interviewed Rich Halbrecker(sp?) of R.J. Reynolds/Winston and it was mentioned that there will be some changes to The Winston all-star race that will be run at Lowes Motor Speedway on May 18th. No word on what any of those changes will be.(2-24-2002)

I'm especially curious since I'll down in Charlotte at the Winston this year!

I know what it is. Target is going to sponsor all the cars for the race. Their logo will prominently be placed on the back of each car and then they are going to start Jeff Gordon at the tailend of the field to see how many cars he can take out. Winner is the last car left standing.

Hopefully they let us bring in pea shooters to aim at the targets on the cars we don't want to see win...*G*

Even if they ran the race several times like that, Jeff Gordon would still be far behind all the other aggressive drivers in total wrecks for his career. That is one statistic he doesn't have the lead in, and will probably never have.

That's about as dumb as those rednecks who where trying to pitch coolers over the fence @ Bristol at the #24 car... I bet them that they couldn't even get the cooler over the fence, let alone hit a car with it.

No, I wouldn't say that. Anyone who's been around here for awhile knows there is a long standing "fued" of sorts going on between fans of different drivers. Nobody means anything by it. It's kind of like a "pick your driver, and pick on all the rest" situation.
