Lay Down Enduro Karts 500cc
Eddie Lawson owns the outright lap record at Willow Springs, the oldest 2.5 mile road racing circuit in the United States. He averaged a lap at 116.00 MPH driving what they call a Super Kart here in the U.S. They have a straight line speed in excess of 150.00 MPH with ground effects body kits. If you ever get a chance to see a Super Kart race dont miss it. Anyone on board to any enduro racing in the 100cc class? Regards.

I havent done any enduro racing but it would be great fun to have a go at , we actually lined up a team of drivers for a planned enduro at our local track , we tested all our karts and found the best kart that suited all three of us and we were ready to go , only problem was that the Australian karting association decided not to grant us with the authority to hold the event , so sadly I never got the chance to do it , would be great fun though.
as for superkarts , they are simply amazing machines and i think we have a couple of superkart drivers on the forum ??? ive only seen them , but they look like a blast thats for sure. |

The Kart Lawson runs isnt really a laydown, and is powered by a TZ250 yamaha GP bike engine, his is more a conventional superkart, with a semi laydown seating position.
Engine would be somewhere around 90-100hp,as I would imagine he would have the contacts to get some of the better kit parts available for these engines. At our local track we run 130mph off the main straight! Superkarts have lapped some tracks faster than 500cc GP bikes and V8 tourers and are 2sec quicker than the Britten at our home track. |

Raced in the States,I wish!
Started about 94 in a 250 national, went ot a 125 national for a few years then went to 250 superkart, managing to be #2NZ this year. The guy who beat me is planning on doing the Laguna Seca meeting this year,so if finances allow I will be over as crew. This is the best superkart site, have a look in the pictures section under new Zealand to see what I run http://users.cyberzane.net/rforker?GThomepage.htm |
