Michael H should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Australian TV coverage of ETCC/DTM/BTCC

Nothing much has happend on this front yet. It seems yet again that we will not get to see these great series. This is very bad.

All three series are going to be awesome this year.

The BTCC is huge again - Proton, Honda, Vauxhall, MG, privateer Peugeots.

The ETCC will have 2 Volvo's, 7 Alfa's, 8 BMW's, and 2 Nissan's.

The DTM will have 10 Mercedes, about 8 Opel's, and 5 Audi's.

But what Tv station are going to allow this stuff to be teleised for free? Unless you are V8 Supercars or F1, you have to pay to get on Aussie TV...

Well they certainly won't have to worry about prequalifying will they?

Pay TV is the only real option. If FOXTEL is willing to show us the American World Challenge Touring Cars then surely the DTM and ETC and BTCC would be possible.

I've been checking out the Pay TV scene a little lately and, looking through the online program listings, Optus does have a motor racing show titled Chequered Flag, which - if it's the CF - it's the UK program that televises DTM races.

Also on Optus are hour-long BTCC telecasts, although I don't know how recent they are...

Now, if only I could spare $44.95 a month...

They are last years races. On foxtel last year we got hour long programs of each round of the BTCC, but we only got to see the first half of the season.

Is that the first time they've showed last year's or did they show them within a few weeks of the races taking place?

I feel really sorry for you guys out there. To think us in the UK complain about motorsports coverage on TV is just silly !

There's also this cracking new "Motors TV" channel on satellite TV here, and right now as I type there is a 2 hour long V8 Season review. Have seen the V8's numerous times in the past few weeks. We're really spoiled in the UK to be honest.

I've heard that you won't be able to see the BTCC on tv in Scotland this year. Is this true?

That's correct, unfortunately. But I have managed to tune in the other ITV regions into Sky Digital, where I also get Men & Motors channel which is showing BTCC repeats.
