Safari - it's prediction time again
Last year Tommi Makinen gave the Grp A Mitsubishi it's last win on the Safari, but who will triumph in Kenya this year

I'm gonna be bold and say Sainz. What do you think of that?

Can I be bolder and say a Skoda?!
Honestly tho, I reckon they could get onto the Podium like last year, they are probably the most reliable cars in the field! |

I don't think the Ford's have the reliability to pull off the Safari. I'm going to play it safe and say Gronholm in the Peugot, with Tommi having an outside shot in the Subaru.

This is about as tough to call as it is to compete, but here goes....
Sainz Makinen Gronholm C. McRae Burns Skoda (higher if things are really rough) |

Could this be Skodas best chance for an outright victory???
Apparently the year's Safari could be the roughest ever as sustained and heavy rain has washed away many of the roads. The start of SS1 has already been moved because the first 12km were deemed too rough, and after recces drivers are expecting their cars to take a hammering with holes in places the size of cars. Marcus Gronholm has told the Sunday Mirror; "Our car is already one of the strongest in the championship, but a tank might be more use!". So will the top teams destroy themselves in a quest for speed, and let the steady Octavias through to win. |

Sainz will win, he's very good at driving where there are no roads.
Then: Harri Solberg Gronholm Nicky Grist Armin Schwartz |
