Best looking sports/GT car ever....
There are similar threads on F1 and Touring, so I thought as Sports/GT cars are the most beautiful of all, there should be one here.
This is my all time favourite, most gorgeous Sports Prototype - The Ford F3L |

Hello, Rutle,
Unbelievable - the two models you pointed out are also within my all-time favorites! Good taste, pal. Great pictures too. Regarding a specific car - and not a model - my darling is the "Hippy", the Porsche 917L that GĂ©rard Larrousse and Willy Khausen drove in the 1970 Le Mans (chassis 043, car number 3 in the race). Ford GT 40. Timeless design that still looks great today. Maybe that is why the new one ended up looking so much like the original.

Hi Rutle,
I am with you on the except that my favourite is definately the Ferrari P4 - what a good looking car. From more modern times it has to be the Toyota GT one or The Bentley |

My fave has to be the Porsche 956/962. i thinks its gorgeous, forget the modified versions that followed later, the original shape had an elegance to it.
Porshe 917 is also one of my faves but the 956/962 has the edge in my book. I just love them! |

Either the Dome S101, the Porsche 917-10,-20,-30, or the Panoz GTR-1.

So many choices, but one which comes immediatly to mind... The Ferrari 275P Spyder. Simply breathtaking, and with the symphony of that V-12...

As most people know by now, it's the Toyota GT-One for me, closely followed by the long-tail McLaren F1 GTR and, of course, all manifestations of the beautiful Debora. ( ).
Anything but the Audi R8, really....... |

Es: That roll hoop is in the FIA SCC rules, so they can't get rid of it, if they are going to run in that series.
The new Pescarolo Courage is ugly, I prefer the old car. The Dome is also not bad. |

For me, it's GT40 (distance) or M8F (sprint).

Limited myself to Le Mans winners, (so sadly no Ferrari P4), my top 5 in no particular order:
1. Jag D Type 2. Ferrari 250 TR 3. Ford GT40 (just edged out Ferrari 275 P) 4. Porsche 917 5. Porsche 956 |

I have to say that, like so many of you, when I started this thread I almost put the Ford GT40 and Porsche 917 (especially in JWA Gulf colours) top of my list.
They are undoubtedly my favourite Sports/Gt's of all time - but as far as looks go the F3L and 330 P3/P4 just edged them out. I know what you mean though!!! Oops sorry!!! Forgot to attach the piccy!!! See next post. Last edited by Rutle; 15 Jul 2002 at 11:04. |
